  • This has to be one of the best episodes of The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy.

    10
This episode starts as a skull that grants wishes appearing. This is where the chaos all starts. Eventually, the skull grants all kinds of wishes. All of the wishes backfire on the people who wished them. This has a very funny way of doing it. This episode was very funny. The reason the skull grants wishes is to be free. This episode focuses on some minor characters, but not too much. It does it perfectly. No episode of the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy is like this. Bottom line another great episode for the sereis. Filled with humor and comedy.moreless
  • Bloody Awsome!

    10
This is hands down, the best episode of Billy and Mandy, and of any show on Cartoon Network to date (even better than Keaper of the Reaper). Thromnambular was such an incredably aswome character. He really delivered a dark tone to the whole episode. I really liked the closing credits.

I really liked the episodes dark tone, especially during Pud\'n\'s wish. It was almost like watching a real horror film. It\'s actually kinda hard to believe that this is rated only TV-Y7. Not even Invader Zim gets nearly this dark. Skarr\'s wish, Junior\'s wish, and Mindy\'s wish were also highlights of the show. Seeing Skarr suffocate in space was one of the funniest things I have ever seen in a show.

This episode is really awsome. I hope the writers make another episode like this.moreless
  • Pretty good

    9.0
This episode was actually pretty good, although I expected way better for an episode like this. A magical skull appears that can grant wishes, but whenever a wish is called for it somehow backfires at them, or it doesn't do what they were looking for. This happened to Billy, Harold, Skarr, Irwin, Pud'n, Junior, Sperg, Mindy, Mandy, and Grim.
  • Best epiosode ever!

    10
This has to be one of the funniest epiosdes. Again they use the whole cute-but-evil thing on Pud'n's bunny, which I think is hilarious. Billy's dad's wish is a little stupid, I mean why did this guy think he was cool in high school. Mindy finally got what she deserves, now nobody has to worry about that little brat. The smartest one with the skull has to be Mandy. Instead of making a wish, just try to get some cash. Smart girl!moreless
  • A great and very funny episode of Billy and Mandy. One of my favorites and one of the best episodes.

This episode is really funny and great. I like the part when it is Sperg's turn to wish on the skull. He wished That he can go inside the girl's restroom and then the girl's on the restroom teased him. That is very funny. Also the other parts of this episode. I like also the part at the end when Grim wished at the skull and then they exchanged life. Grim now is the skull and the skull is now Grim. Very funny. One of my favorites and one of the best episode of Billy and Mandy!moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (6)

    • Just before Sperg makes his wish and is holding the skull, Thromnabular constantly switches between his left hand and his right

    • If Irwin got eaten by a pterodactyl, then why is he alive later in this episode?
(Edit: Probably for the same reason Billy's dad was back to his old self immediatly after Billy's segment ended. Anyway, Thromnabular might make new realities to fit a wish)

    • Pud'n throws a slice of cake at the truck the evil bunny was driving, then wipes the cake off. But when Pud'n grabs the chocolate eclairs, the slice of cake reappears.

    • You'd think that Grim would be glad he'd switched with Thromnambular. Now Thromnambular had to serve Billy & Mandy for eternity, and he only had to grant nine wishes. Plus, since Grim hates mortals, he should be glad that the wishes would have negative effects.

    • When Pud'n is running from the evil bunny, the bunny hops in a truck and chases Pud'n, who is rolling away on a lunch cart with donuts on it. Pud'n first throws cake at the truck's window, but the bunny wipes it off. Then Pud'n takes some eclairs and squirts custard at the truck, making it explode. However, the truck the bunny was driving was holding the world's largest pillow, and the custard hit the pillow.

In exactly which dimension do pillows explode when they are squirted with custard?

    • The credits misspell Thromnambular's name as "Thrombumbular."

  • QUOTES (11)

  • NOTES (5)

    • Second full length episode.

    • Running Gags:
      1) Billy mispronounces Thromnabular's name.
      2) When Harold wishes he could relive his high school years, he gets thrown into the trash can whenever he tries to talk to someone.

    • Problems with the wishes:

      1) Billy - He didn't enjoy the adventure along with Irwin, his dad, and Saliva.
      2) Billy's Dad - He tries to fit in with the others, but he gets thrown in the trash can everytime.
      3) Skarr - The statue got bigger as he reachs into outer space and explodes.
      4) Irwin - Even though Mandy appeared in his hip-hop video, she inflates him and blows him away.
      5) Pud'n - The rabbit continuously attempts to kill him no mattter what damage it suffers.
      6) Nergal Junior - He wasted his wish for nothing (like Billy did in A Dumb Wish).
      7) Sperg - After he morphs into a girl, the others ridicule him/her.
      8) Mindy - She gets tied to a Genesis device rocket launched into space to explode into a star.
      9) Mandy - She was trying to sell Thromnambular to the auction customers, but Grim stole her wish away by wishing that she and Billy never found the skull.
      10) Grim - He and Thromnabular switch positions with each other.

    • Third appearances of Nergal Junior and Skarr

    • Credits: Grim pulls out Thromnambular and wishes to be free from Billy and Mandy forever, and the skull to be free from making wishes again. Thromnambular agrees to that deal, however he switches positions with Grim. Now Grim is the new wishing skull, and Thromnambular is the new Grim Reaper. Grim screams "NO!" in horror, and then Thromnambular laughs evilly.

  • ALLUSIONS (5)

    • Pud'n's bunny sounds and looks like (at least by the end of the segment) the rabbit Frank from Donnie Darko.

    • Appearing only briefly during Pud'n's chase you can see the side of the truck which is emblazoned with a logo intentionally similar to the Autobots logo from Transformers. The truck itself is colored in a similar fashion as Optimus Prime, the leader of the Autobots in the franchise.

    • The storyline is very similar to the classic horror story "The Monkey's Paw," in which a mummified monkey's paw containing a limited number of wishes is used despite the warnings of its former owner. As with Thromnambular, the monkey paw's wishes backfire in increasingly horrible ways, until the last wish is used to undo it.

    • To fulfill her wish, Thromnambular has Mindy tied to a "Genesis device" that is launched into space and explodes to create a new star. At the climax of Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan, a device called the "Genesis probe" explodes in space to create a new planet.

    • Billy's Adventure Wish:

When Billy wishes for an adventure, he, his dad, and Irwin are in a tomb. The characters they're impersonating are from the show Jonny Quest, and the scenario they're in is a parody of Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark.
