Maria was on her way to becoming a beautician when her mother's illness forced the 22 year-old to come home to care for her. Maria's mom has since moved on to a better place. Maria has moved on as well - to be the maid for the insanely wealthy Ridgeway dynasty. As one of many servants who dote on the demented and dysfunctional family, Maria juggles extremely important tasks like dusting their many unread books, vacuuming their priceless rugs and picking up after their prized poodle Pookie. But the biggest surprise comes when Maria discovers there's not only a class struggle between the upstairs and the downstairs, but there's an all out war among The Help! Executive producers Ron Leavitt (Married... with Children) and Marty Adelstein with director Gerry Cohen (The Drew Carey Show) in conjunction with Original Productions and Warner Bros. Television.moreless

I think Pucko is confusing the TV show "The Help" (about the employees of a wealthy family,) with the 2011 movie "The Help" about African American housekeepers and nannies in the south Prior to the civil rights movement.

Now the TV show, (which has absolutely NOTHING to do with the movie or the book the movie was based on.) did suck. I love tv shows about the lower class vs the upper class, (Like Two Broke Girls.) but this show was pretty pathetic. The wealthy family was way over the top, and the help are less than sympathetic. I am so glad this show was cancelled. And I hope, for the sake of humainity, it NEVER comes out on DVD, Blue Ray, Hulu, Netflix or the like!moreless
