    • Episode Twenty Two (Final Episode)
      Helen is called to a council meeting to decide the fate of the centre. Miranda warns Carol that her mother is determined to see the centre closed even though she tried to stop her going to the council, Ahn suggests they all go to the meeting too, Tam and Vinnie arrive and they all head to the meeting. Miranda takes on her mother much to everyone's astonishment and they all argue to save their show, the council say the centre might be saved but they probably will have to abandon their show. Steve Tells Wal he has the chance to travel to Cannes, but he didn't think he could because he had to look after Tam, Wal tells Steve that he will look after Tam and that Steve should follow his dreams. Tam is upset when Steve tells her, she wanted them all to be a family again, Steve tells her they have both grown up now and they have an emotional farewell, Steve says he will leave after the show, if they do the show, Tam makes him promise to be careful. The gang wait at the Youth centre for the verdict, Helen arrives and tells them all they can put on their show, they are all thrilled. As preparations get underway Wal is brought back in for questioning again, Tam is taken too when she shuts her mouth off about her dad being innocent because Harry said he was when she was kidnapped. Carol arrives excited about her next date with Trevor but gets nervous that Tam won't get back in time to sing her songs and Helen tells her she will have to do it herself. Mick gets on the wrong side of Mr. Boyd for skipping school yet he has made a miraculous recovery to go and see the show. As Marty takes the stage he gets stage fright, Carol shouts "Yey Marty!" backstage and everyone claps, he gets his confidence back, Mr Summers proudly sits in the audience clapping away. Tam arrives much to Carols relief but is upset her dad wasn't released with her and fears he may not make it in time to see the show. As the others perform, Vinnie does a mickey take of Mr. Boyd and he sits in the audience next to Mick trying not to laugh, Marty does some magic, and Brains and Sally try a punk version of Romeo and Juliet, Tam keeps checking from behind the curtain to see if her dad is there yet. Eventually it's time for Tam to sing, she starts but is so overcome as she stares at her dads empty chair she can't sing, everyone is worried about her, she starts again and as she stalls on the second verse Carol sings it, they end up doing a duet, in the middle of it Wal arrives and proudly takes his seat, while Carols dad watches proudly too. The end of the show has a presentation for Helen, who announces that the centre will remain open. Tam notices Wal and Steve side stage and goes over to them, Steve tells her because of what she told the police Harry confessed everything and Wal is in the clear, all the charges have been dropped, it's all over. Helen announces Steve is leaving and wishes him luck. Tam then takes the mike and tearfully tells everyone that Marty saved her life, the gang give him a cardboard medal and everyone cheers, no one more than his very proud father. Tam sings the theme song dragging Steve centre stage, as Trevor plays with his band and Miranda and Ahn hand out streamers, Mr Summers takes to his feet clapping and the rest of the audience join in. It looks like finally a happy ending for the Henderson Kidsmoreless

      Wal tries to explain his disappearance saying he did it to protect them all, as Harry is mixing with some dangerous people that would commit murder. Ron shuts rehearsals early telling Helen he's had a call from the council and they are having an inspection tomorrow, Helen lets everyone involved with costumes go to her house but the rest can go home. Tam realises she has lost her brooch and heads back to the centre alone. The centre is all locked up but Tam remembers the old sky light and gets in through there, she hears a noise and finds a smuggled bird, the light goes on and she sees Ellis, he and Spider chase her and she runs straight in to Ron, she is relieved until Ellis calls him boss. Steve fills Wal in on how they tried to find him and how they watched Harry's yard, he is horrified and tells Steve, the bird smuggling was only part of it, the rest was hard drugs and these people can't afford to get caught. Carol notices Tam still isn't back and Helen sends Brains and Marty to get her. Tam is in big trouble Ron has kidnapped her and she is tied to a chair, she sees Harry bring the drugs in and he has a go at her for being no better than her father and says when he found out what was going on he skipped because he had no guts, when she sticks up for him Harry gags her. Brains gets to the centre and shouts for Tam, he hears her muffled screams as does Marty who is near the ladder for the skylight entrance. Spider slams his hand over Tams mouth and Ron goes to con Brains into leaving. Marty plucks up the courage to climb the ladder and gets on the roof. Ron loses his temper with Brains and he leaves, suspiciously. Marty peers through the skylight and sees Tam he tells Brains to get help. Helen goes to Steve's looking for Tam and sees Wal, she has a go at him, Vinnie wanders in and Brains rushes in screaming that Tam has been kidnapped, Wal goes to call the police but Steve and Vinnie take off to the centre gathering the gang. Marty climbs inside the centre and as Ron decides to inject Tam, he shouts out, Ellis chases after him as Spider checks outside and is rushed by Vinnie, Steve and a gang of kids, from a great height Marty leaps on Ellis when he fends kids off with a golf club and Carol and Brains get Harry with the scenery, Ron tries to escape and Vinnie enlists Marty to help catch him. The police arrive and they are all arrested, Wal arrives and Tam is thrilled until he is arrested too. Wal is held over night and Helen sends Tam to bed but she is worried about her dad. Helen tells Steve they will probably close the centre now. Tam is reunited with Wal when he is released pending further enquirers.moreless

      Steve finds out where to get aqua lungs filled up and enlists Vinnie, brains and Marty to help go round the dive shops looking for Spider's aqua lung, but they have no luck. During a meeting of the cast and crew of the show, Helen hears someone sawing back stage, she angrily pulls back the curtain and is shocked to see Miranda offering her help, Helen thankfully accepts and as Miranda takes a deep breath she joins the others at the piano, ready to be accepted in West Port, Tam and Carol smile at her offering encouragement. Carol goes to Trevor's for dinner and his Gran comments on how much she looks like a boy, Carol wants to leave but Trevor convinces her to stay. Ahn arrives at the youth centre, a new improved Miranda offers her hand of friendship and Ahn joins the centre. As Trevor's Gran continually goads Carol, Trevor finally snaps and tells her that he wants carol to be his girlfriend and to leave her alone, Carol can't believe it and smiles. Vinnie and Steve find Spiders aqua lung and find out he will be picking it up the next day, Steve gathers the rest for another stakeout. Carol is telling Tam all about Trevor and they nearly miss Spider, Steve whistles and Tam rushes to Vinnie, and she Marty and Brains who have been keeping the taxi driver busy, follow Spider to a deserted warehouse. Vinnie tells them if anything happens it has to be every man for himself, they agree and head into the warehouse. Spider and Harry discuss preparation for next Thursday night and as Spider looks in the mirror he spots Marty, he and Harry give chase and they all hide. Tam spots a way out through the skylight via rope ladder and they all go up except Marty who is afraid of heights, he almost gets caught, but escapes through a side door. Marty is angry with himself for messing up again, Carol tries to help by telling him she never thought she'd have a boyfriend so things can happen for him too. Vinnie fills Steve in on what they heard at the youth centre and they set plans up for the Thursday night. Tam shows Vinnie a brooch her mother gave to her that she wants on her costume for good luck. Harry tells the boss via phone about the kids over hearing his conversation, but the boss tells him not to worry as thing are happening tonight.       Steve suggests getting Vinnie to help with the stakeouts again, but Tam doesn't think they can rely on him anymore, Steve tells her they need Vinnie and not to get him off side, Tam is frustrated as she doesn't know why Vinnie is acting like he is and when sally starts asking questions she has a go at her, then Steve warns Sally not to tell anyone what she overhears them talking about in the house. When Marty and Brains see Vinnie at school closely followed by Miranda they call Miranda and Vinnie threatens them. Vinnie parades Miranda round school and glares at Tam, she is really frustrated, Mick laughs slyly. At the youth centre Carol practices the song she wrote and Tam tells her she should sing it, and Trevor and Helen agree, but Carol adamantly refuses. Vinnie arrives and Tam tries to talk to him, but he accuses her of using him, she gets mad and tells him he can leave and take the rest with him,.. he does, leaving Helen and the rest without a cast. Tam is hysterical feeling she's messed everything up, and Sally tries to comfort her desperate to be like a proper sister, saying she should ask him why, but Tam's not chasing after anybody. Trevor's Gran demands Trevor go home as it is late, and she treats him like a child, reluctantly he agrees. When Tam is given detention Sally heads to see Steve and gets him to buy her some sweets, in the shop Ahn is behind the counter and Steve stays behind to talk to her, sending Sally to the youth centre. Mrs Cathcart arrives at the paper to tell Helen, Trevor will only be available one or two nights a week and must be home by nine, Helen is stunned. A bored Sally is messing with the PA system again when she overhears a conversation with Mick and Miranda, she records it. Sally gets Brains and Marty to keep Vinnie at the youth centre while she goes to get Tam, Vinnie is back with his gang and they are about to leave, so brains challenges Mick to a game of pool 2 dollars a game, only he has no money. Steve tries to convince Ahn to join the youth centre, and she agrees to talk to her father. Sally rushes to get Tam from school, when she arrives at the youth centre, Vinnie and Miranda are there and he glares at Tam, he is about to leave when Sally talks over the PA and plays Mick and Miranda's conversation, Vinnie lunges at Mick and Tam stops him, then he dumps Miranda and she leaves, Sally rushes in and Tam hugs her, saying she's better than a real sister, she is thrilled. Vinnie begs Tam to talk to him, she agrees, he says he was so angry because he missed her, and really wants things back the way they were, and he will still help look for her father and get everyone back in the show, she is pleased, but when he asks her back out, he has to get past Sally, who readily forgives him. Trevor's Gran goes to his school to pick him up, he is angry she has told Helen he is not helping with the show, he tells her he is and not to wait up for him and that he wants to bring someone for dinner. Miranda goes to the youth centre to apologise to Tam, who doesn't believe her, until she explains how she has never fitted in, and nobody would let her, Tam offers to help if she is willing to help herself first.moreless

      Brains pushes Marty hard for the Cross Country, making him wear gum boots and a tire tied round his waist. Vinnie tells Tam he is fine if she wants to talk to another guy but he doesn't want her cheating on him. Trevor apologises to Carol and tells her he thinks she's fantastic, she forgives him. Mr Boyd asks Brains if he can help with Marty's training, Brains reluctantly agrees, but he seems to be a help to Marty. Mick tells Tam he has written some poems for the show but he is too embarrassed to show anyone, he says he'll show her if she agrees to meet up with him, she agrees. Steve spots Harry driving through town and tries to follow but bangs into Mr Boyd and loses him. Marty puts everything into his training and all the gang help to keep his spirits up, even Mr Boyd. At the sports day Marty is stunned to see his dad has turned up, when Marty falls at the starting line Mr Summers has a go about him infuriating Brains. It seems Mick's poetry is nothing more than a set up between him and Miranda as Tam is sitting on a hill with Mick listening to his pathetic poem, when Miranda collars Vinnie at the refreshment stand, telling him Tam is cheating on him, she then shows Vinnie Tam and Mick sitting together, Mick spots them and hugs Tam for listening to his poem, Vinnie thinks Tam is cheating with Mick and is hurt, there plan has worked. Steve manages to crack the numbers Vinnie got from the yard and rushes to the sports day to tell Tam. Vinnie beats Mick up who is secretly thrilled and says he really fancies Tam and she likes him. It looks like Marty is about to win his race, as he heads for the finish line in the lead, only he daydreams what it would be like to win and believes he already has, the adoration he gets and most importantly his fathers acceptance, when he is brought back to reality he comes third when two other runners pass him he looks at the stand and his dad has gone. At home Mr Summers tells Marty the effort he put in was what counted and he proudly puts Marty's little trophy with the rest, telling him he is proud of him. Vinnie turns up at the youth centre with his arm round Miranda, saying he is going ice skating, Tam is speechless. While Steve watches out at the docks he sees Ellis and Spider.moreless

      Tam is downhearted believing they are never going to find Wal. Marty overhears Mick telling the rest of The Brown Street Boys not to be in the show, Marty decides to tease Mick about it and as both he and Brains run off, Mick chases them without the backing of the rest of his gang. Trevor decides he wants to take Carol to a concert and asks Tam, she says he has to ask her himself. Later he does and she is flattered and agrees to go but has to be talked into making an effort by Tam Mick arrives at the youth centre and drags all the Brown Street Boys from the stage, Vinnie intervenes and takes Mick to the foyer, Mick tells him he wants things the way they were with the fights and the chicks, Vinnie tells him that kind of life for him is over, Mick goes to thump him and Vinnie knocks him to the floor, Tam is watching so he walks away. Carol asks if Tam will sing her songs at the youth centre show, Tam agrees. Mr Summers notices the school sports are coming up and is disappointed Marty isn't in anything, he is not interested that carol is in the shot put, when there are no volunteers for the running from West Port High, Brains enters a very shocked Marty. Steve watches the ships at the docks trying to work out Vinnie's code of numbers. Tam gets annoyed when another girl paints her feelings for Vinnie all over Westport. She subtly questions him about it, but he doesn't have a clue, he just tells her if she likes someone else he'd smash his face in, they are spy-ed on by Mick and Miranda, Mick says he's going to get Tam back for ruining everything and asks Miranda if she wants to be a part of it, she tells him to take a walk. Sally tells Steve she knows who the graffiti girl is and he and Sally take Tam to see her.. she is nine years old, Tam is embarrassed, but relieved. Trevor and Carol's date is going fine until some of his University friends show up and he practically ignores her, she leaves early and heads to Tams to tell her what happened, telling her from now on she and Trevor are just doing a job, there is nothing more. Alone at the Brown Street Boy's hang out Mick is furious and starts smashing the place up, he hears a noise and the door opens, he goes to hit the intruder with a snooker cue, but it's Miranda and she casually pushes it out of the way.moreless

      Tam and Vinnie argue about Vinnie hitting Mick, Tam doesn't like him being violent and he doesn't like being a wimp, she storms off home. Steve and Tam get another letter and a cheque from Wal, letter from one place and the cheque is stamped from another, so it's impossible to trace it. Vinnie and Tam have another talk and make another date, this time for Vinnie's family party. Steve also wants to throw a party to celebrate winning the computer. Tam introduces Carol to Trevor, they don't get on at first but she likes the music he's written. At Steve's party Tanya from Drummonds turns up and congratulates Steve, and asks him to go for dinner with him on Saturday, Steve jumps at the chance forgetting he has already promised to help Helen at the paper. Vinnie sneaks a look at the log book in Harry's yard. Trevor suggests to Carol that changing some of the wording to her poems would be beneficial, she threatens to break both his arms if he changes one word. he decides not to. Steve goes to Tanya's and she gets him to talk about the virus he fixed at Drummonds, she says she no longer sees Nick and that he told her that Steve solved it, she wants him to show her how. Vinnie's parents are thrilled he is with Tam, and make her very welcome. Steve realises he's been set up when Nick arrives at Tanya's, he patronizes Steve and says he has been well paid for the information by having dinner with his girl, Steve throws the book at Nick and tells him it's all in there if he knows where to look, knowing fine well he doesn't, he then thanks a guilty Tanya for dinner and tells her she only needed to ask and he would have helped her anyway. Tam is a hit at the family party and she and Vinnie share there first kiss. Using Vinnie's information from the log book, Steve finally gets some evidence together and he Tam and Vinnie head for Harry's yard, they are stunned to find it empty, they've moved on.moreless

      Vinnie heads to Tam and Steve's to tell them Ellis is the boss and they all head to the youth centre, Vinnie shows them an old skylight and they get in through there, the bird smell is there but no birds. At the Youth Centre the next day they tell the others and decide it must be in Ellis's storeroom, so Brains and Marty keep Ellis busy while Tam and Carol sneak a look in the storeroom, Marty and Brains get distracted by there game of pool and Tam and Carol are caught by Ellis, Ron arrives and Ellis pushes him into the room and locks them all in. Brains and Marty see Ellis running away and steal Brown Street Boys bike to chase after him, but they lose him. Carol and Tam fill Ron in on what's been happening, when Marty and Brains let them all out Ron decides to phone the police an undercover friend of his, and makes the gang promise not to get involved further. Harry tells Vinnie he is cutting back his hours at the yard, Vinnie asks about night work or weekends but Harry says there isn't work then. Steve enters a competition to try and win a computer. Miranda arrives at the Youth Centre and performs taming of the shrew, Marty takes the mickey out of her and the others all laugh too, she leaves. Ron tells Steve the police think Ellis has headed into state and they think he and Tam should stay out of it, he asks if anyone else is involved and they keep quiet about Vinnie. Tam and Steve decide not to back off as they still want to clear Wal, but they tell Ron they will. Vinnie takes Tam to the city for there first date and they are having a great time until Mick and the boys show up and ruin it. Steve finds out he's won a computer and rushes out to announce it to a complete stranger with beans all over his shirt. Tired of Mick's constant comments Vinnie finally loses it and flattens Mick in the cinema, they all get thrown out including Vinnie and Tam.moreless

      Steve and Vinnie tell Tam about the mystery box and they head to the docks, Tam pretends she wants a job while Steve and Vinnie try and get a look inside the box, the man ventures inside and Vinnie and Steve have to hide but the box is next to Tam, she goes to look but the man gets angry and tells her off for nearly ruining the ice cream cake, they are disappointed. Marty continues to pursue Miranda determined to prove she is the mystery poet, she gets annoyed and gets him into trouble with Mr Boyd then jams his fingers in a window. Helen is determined to find the poet and a misunderstanding leads to Carol slipping up that they are hers, embarrassed she rushes out, Tam convinces her they are great and she goes back, to be applauded by everyone. Helen thinks it would be a good idea to put Carols poems to music and suggests Miranda, Carol is furious and wont ask her so Tam agrees, Miranda is in the middle of the recitals and Tam finds herself reunited with Trevor Cathcart, he is no longer a nerd and he likes Carols poems, he agrees to put them to music, Tam still asks Miranda to be part of the show, she says she'll think about it. Vinnie meets Tam on her way back and finally gets to ask her for a date. Tam sucks up to Steve to get money for a new outfit, but Steve already knew about the date, he gives her the money anyway, Tam leaves Steve with the washing up to get back at him. Mick and the gang chase Vinnie to work on their bikes. Sally heads to Harry's yard looking for Vinnie, she sees Harry and Spider and they discuss a meeting with the boss tonight, she finds more diving equipment too. Mick tries to run Vinnie off the pier but Vinnie stops in time and Mick goes in the sea instead, making a fool of himself. Harry and Spider see Sally hiding in between the boxes and chase her, she runs into spider who grabs her, she screams for Vinnie, who arrives on his bike just in time, he tells them Sally has a crush on him. Vinnie later tells Sally off, but is impressed when he hears about the meeting with the boss tonight. Marty and Vinnie watch at Harry's yard, but Marty is nervous again, Vinnie sees the truck again and as it is pulling away leaps onto the back, he jump off as it heads for the Youth Centre and sees Ellis lead it in.moreless

      Tam and Vinnie tells the others about the bird smuggling, they all agree to keep watching the yard, but Sally is upset that they don't seem to care about the birds being hurt. Vinnie keeps trying to get Tam on his own so he can ask her on a date, but keeps getting interrupted. Marty tries to get Miranda involved in the show, but she says her mother is organizing piano recitals and she is involved in those, not that she would want to be in there silly show anyway, although she seems to want to change her mind when she discovers Vinnie is in charge, but when Marty teases her she changes her mind again and makes fun of the show. Mick doesn't want the rest of the Brown Street boys involved in Vinnie's show, he has a go at Vinnie and Vinnie See's Tam watching so he reluctantly walks away, Mick looks smug. Brains is babysitting Sally and sends her for ice-cream, instead she heads to the pet shop and tries to let the birds go, Javorsky stops her and she slips up and tells him about the birds, Javorsky is confused and takes Brains and Sally back to the bush. Some Mystery poems turn up at the centre for the show, Marty believes they are Miranda's. Javorsky finds nothing in the bush and takes Sally and Brains back home. Mick continues to wind up Vinnie and he continues to walk away, he heads to the fort, Sally is there, she's upset she almost ruined things for their survey-lance operations and thinks she's stupid, Vinnie helps her but he still feels upset himself, especially when Sally tells him nobody is scared of him anymore. Marty tries to find out if Miranda wrote the poems when he sees her reading poetry. Vinnie sees Spider with more diving equipment and heads to the docks to tell Steve, only Spider is there handing over a box.moreless

      Tam and Brains are trapped in the back of the truck as it heads into the bush, Brains feels sick as the inside really stinks. Vinnie is mad at Marty for being late to Harry's yard, Marty tries to explain he's just a chicken but Vinnie is preoccupied spying, Spider comes out after hearing a noise almost catching Vinnie and Marty flees in terror, Vinnie thinks he was making sure he didn't get caught and is greatful. Tam and Brains split up as she follows Harry to a house in the bush, a meeting is taking place with the boss, she peers through the window and hears them discussing her dad, she trips on something and draws attention, so she flees in terror, getting lost, she finds herself staring down the barrel of a shot gun.... luckily it's a frightened old lady and her dog, she takes Tam into her house and tells her about men stealing the birds. Vinnie and Marty are back on survey-lance when Carol arrives, they see the truck arrive back with Harry in but no Tam and Brains, Vinnie takes a look in the back, it's empty but the horrible smell is there. Brains finds Tam at the old lady's house and she makes them stay the night. Steve and Vinnie meet Tam and Brains off the train, Vinnie has a go at Tam for being stupid and Steve agrees. Mick delights in telling Vinnie he is being replaced as leader of the Brown Street boys by him. Helen lets everyone choose how to do their own show when her idea's bomb. Tam and Vinnie are visiting a pet shop and Vinnie recognises the smell of the birds, he works out that Harry and Spider are smuggling birds.moreless

      Steve and Tam continue to fight as he wants Tam to have nothing to do with Vinnie, she tells him she likes Vinnie and she can do what she wants, he tells he to remember he is in charge, she's angry. Tam tells Vinnie off for acting like a thug with Steve, he apologizes to her but she isn't satisfied. Mick and the Brown Street Boys corner Brains in the yard and are going to beat him up, Tam and Vinnie see and Vinnie warns Mick off, Tam is pleased with him again. Later Mick has a go at Marty and yet again Vinnie warns him off, Marty is suspicious. Helen gives Steve some advice on how to deal with Tam and Vinnie, and she also joins forces with Ron to save the Youth Centre. Steve goes to see Vinnie and they call a truce, he invites him to a barbeque, but he also invites Carol, Tam is worried Carol will be upset, Steve promises to sort it out. Vinnie plays the spy at Harry's, and tells Tam and Steve about a meeting at the weekend. Marty decides to head to Brown Street to tell Mick about Vinnie and the Barbeque, Mick gets angry and Marty and Brains get chased by the Brown street boys. Steve tries to flatter Carol so she doesn't feel left out, this just annoys her, but she does tell Tam that she is Ok with her and Vinnie now. Marty and Brains gatecrash the barbeque and get involved in the survey lance at Harry's yard, only Marty is nervous as he has been paired with Vinnie. Tam and Brains are spying at Harry's yard when they see Harry and Spider changing number plates on a truck, they take a look inside it and it drives off with them inside.moreless

      Sally tells Steve her teacher says she can do her project on sea monsters if she gets some proof, so asks when she can go out on the boat, he shouts at her for being stupid and tells her she can't, she runs off upset. Helen suggests to Tam that she and the rest of the kids put on a concert to drum up trade for the Youth centre. Sally follows Steve to work and sneaks on board the boat. Carol gives Tam an ultimatum it's either Vinnie or her, Tam chooses Carol and goes to break it off with Vinnie, only she sees him getting a hard time from his dad, they have a talk and Tam offers some advice, Vinnie gets angry but tells her they are still going out, Tam realises she quite likes him and goes to tell Carol but she doesn't want to know. Steve's boss Roger finds Sally on the boat and is furious, then he has an attack, the boat is drifting into a riptide and they are all trapped on the boat. Helen goes to see Tam looking for Sally, they head to the docks, where they learn Steve's boat is in trouble and it's just a waiting game to see if they survive. Steve tries the flare, but it doesn't work, he is mad at Sally for being there and she is really scared. Helen tells Tam that Sally thinks of her and Steve as her brother and sister, Tam gets upset about Steve and they both try and comfort each other. Steve and Sally collect heavy boxes from around the boat and make an anchor to stop them drifting. Marty and Brains arrive with food and things for Tam and Helen, but Carol fails to show. Carol turns up at the docks to support Tam and they make friends just as Steve and Sally are found safely. Roger tells Steve he took him on because he knew he was sick and when he gets sorted Steve can have his job back properly. Vinnie goes to Harry for a job, and Spider convinces Harry to take him on, Tam is thrilled especially when Vinnie says he will try and help find her dad, Tam hugs him and Steve walks in, he is angry and warns Vinnie off, Vinnie gets mad and storms out threatening Steve, which makes Tam mad at them both.moreless

      Steve saves a fisherman's catch and lands himself a job as a thank you. Vinnie takes Carol for a walk, to grill her about Tam, she believes he likes her instead, Tam tells him to back off, but he says he can't he's infatuated with her. Steve winds Sally up about sea monsters in the bay, she decides to do her school project about them. Tam is frustrated when carol won't stop going on about how great Vinnie is, she wants to tell her the truth but can't. Steve makes a fool of himself on his first day as a fisherman getting the net trapped in the propeller and destroying it. The Brown Street Boy's wind Marty up about the football match, and Brains tries to get him to stand up for himself. Steve isn't fired but told to bring a magazine tomorrow, as the fisherman needs a deckhand so he can put out extra netting for regulations. Marty finally stands up to the Brown Street Boys, but it all goes wrong when Mick tricks him into calling Vinnie a Zonk! The Youth centre meeting is cut short when they all rush to see Vinnie fight Marty. Vinnie corners Marty on the top of a building and he is scared of heights, Carol begs Vinnie to let him go, but he'll only agree if Tam goes out with him, reluctantly Tam agrees, which makes Carol mad at her.       Tam and the gang protest their innocence over the brooch and Javorsky gives them a chance and a time limit for the brooch to be returned. Tam finds Carol crying outside and tells her Vinnie isn't worth it, as he's a creep. Javorsky offers to help find Wal, when he turns up to question Tam over the brooch, Spider sees him leave. Carol accuses Sally of taking the brooch, she gets upset and runs off. Marty's dad Mr Summers is disappointed when Marty fails to get a place on the football team, Marty isn't. Sally hides out at the fort and sees a hooded figure planting the brooch, she follows to discover it's Miranda. Sally tells Tam and Javorsky helps them set a trap to catch Miranda out. Spider threatens Steve to keep the police away when he sees him talking to Javorsky again. Brains sees his dad going into the bike shop and assumes he's getting a bike for his Birthday. Steve gets a lead on Wal and heads off leaving Tam with Helen. Tam and friends club together to get Brains a flag for his bike. Spider follows Steve but Steve realises and gives him the slip. Mr Summers becomes the new school coach and comes down hard on Marty. Brains gets a badminton set for his birthday instead of a bike, he is disappointed but realises his parents couldn't afford it. Vinnie offers to sell Brains a bike, it turns out to be a rust heap, Tam is furious and confronts Vinnie, telling him to give the money back and calling him a bully. Marty is useless in the football match and lets a goal in, his dad is furious.       Vinnie jumps in to save Brains and impresses Carol, Ron helps them clean up at the Youth Centre, Vinnie agrees to a truce so to celebrate Ron plans a disco. Tam works out that Carol fancies Vinnie but Carol doesn't think she stands a chance with anyone. Nick catches Steve at work solving the virus, he tells Steve to leave it alone as he is just a junior. Tam, Sally, Carol, Marty and Brains go to Miranda's to give her the money they've raised, and have to apologise in front of her mother, when her mother leaves Miranda warns that isn't the end of it. Tanya invites Steve for a welcome drink with everyone at work, Nick spikes his drinks and he ends up going to Ahn's late and drunk, her father is furious with him. Tam suggests that Carol get Vinnie to teach her pool as a way of getting to know him, but out of nerves she wins the game, not giving up on them Tam suggests she wear a dress to the disco. Nick takes credit for solving the virus at Drummonds, when Steve tells the truth he's fired. Tam notice's the mail has been tampered with, so Brains and Marty glue the mail box shut. Carol agrees to borrow Tam's dress, but at the last minute turns up looking like the sugar plum fairy and makes a fool of herself, she flees when everyone laughs at her, Tam has a go at Vinnie for it and she and Marty chase after Carol only to be stopped on the stairs by Javorsky and Miranda's mother accused of stealing her brooch.moreless

      Tam wastes no time in starting her war with Vinnie and The Brown Street Boys, the sprinklers are turned on The Brown Street Boys and Mick finds his bike chained up a tree. Later Mick complains to Vinnie at their hangout and is frightened by what appears to be a savage dog in their garage, Vinnie goes to look and finds a tape recorder, but not before Sgt Javorsky has caught Brains and Marty with the microphone pretending to be the dog. Steve tries to stand up for the pensioner who he sold the books to, when he realises his boss doesn't care about people, he pretends he has left her contract at home then secretly destroys it, quiting his job in the process. When Steve finds out Tam's home made quiche is actually made by the domestic science class, he refuses to eat them, needing a use for them The Brown Street Boys soon find themselves sitting in them at registration. Steve and Tam are burgled, but it seems nothing has been stolen, Sally thinks The Brown Street Boys are behind it and tells the police. Steve is woken in the night with a phone call from Wal, he is talking about a log book, Steve and Tam realise that it was taken in the burglary. Tam tells Carol, Brain's and Marty and they agree to spy on Harry, Tam goes to see Harry pretending to be worried about Wal and sees him with the log book. Later Carol and Marty keep Harry and Spider busy while Tam and Brains look for the book, when Harry comes back Tam has to hide in the cupboard and overhears Harry's phone call, he is planning to get Wal and he is having Tam and Steve watched. When Tam tells Steve about it he is mad at her for putting herself in danger and warns her to stay away from Harry, but he is soon cheered up when he finds out he has a job at a computer company. Sally makes a dye bomb to drop on The Brown Street Boys and hides up a tree, Tam orders her to climb down and she drops it on Miranda. Tam asks Vinnie for a truce, he is mad that she set the police on them for the burglary, she apologizes saying she knows it wasn't them, he is on the verge of agreeing but when Brains touches a bike he knocks all The Brown Street Boys bikes down, one of them sees and rushes to tell Vinnie, then they chase him to the end of the pier, only Brains falls in and doesn't come back up...moreless

      Steve leaves school and starts hunting for a job, he heads to Harry's Yard and almost runs into Spider, the prowler from the previous night, Harry tells him he is firing not hiring, as his father has left him in a mess and he is sorry he can't help, while he is looking for work he tells Tam she has to do all the house work, this makes them fight like a married couple. Mr Boyd gives Vinnie hard time in class,Tam feels sorry for him until Carol tells her that it was likely The Brown Street Boys tried to break into her house. Mick robs Brains on his way to school, telling him he has to pay to walk on Brown Street territory. Steve gets a job as a salesman selling books on birds, he has to go and get training first. The gang go to the Youth Centre to find that Vinnie has taken over with The Brown Street Boys, they are told not to hang there anymore. Steve's training is in the world of being a con artist and he is not happy. Carol attacks Mick and gets Brains his knife back, but she tells Brains that it won't have changed anything and to wear his running shoes tomorrow, Marty gives Brains directions to avoid Brown Street turf. Steve makes a sale but feels bad that it was a little old lady with hardly any money, he also finds out the whole process will take a while and so will his pay packet. Brains follows Marty's directions and gets caught by The Brown Street Boys, he is also flour bombed.       A petrified Tam is taken to the police station, where she stays silent, the police are frustrated with her and even accuse her of being on drugs, she tells them she isn't, they think they have made a breakthrough and continue to ask questions, she refuses to tell them anything and ends up being sent to a remand home, she is questioned there are still says nothing, just silently cries. Oblivious to what is happening to Tam, Steve walks Ahn home and just as she is about to leave he kisses her. Tam is bedded down for the night and finds out from her room mate she will have to go to children's court, she is also gutted when they give her beans to eat. When Steve gets home and notices Tam is missing he turns to Helen for help, then head for the police station, Javorsky tells them somebody matching Tam's description was arrested for stealing meat, but won't give her name, Helen can't understand it so Steve tells the truth about Wal, he is shocked when Helen tells Javorsky, he tells them he kept quiet because they didn't want to be split up, but his worst fears are confirmed when neither Helen or Javorsky tell him different. The next morning Steve gets to visit Tam, who is terrified what might happen to her and desperate to go home, only she isn't allowed unless the magistrate agrees. Meanwhile Sally is going around telling everyone Tam is in jail, and Miranda takes great pleasure in announcing it to the whole class, Carol is furious and threatens her to lay off Tam, but Miranda is in enough trouble when the teacher has also heard her comments. Tam has impressed the magistrate and is released into the care of Helen and Steve, Steve realises how close he came to losing Tam and decides he has to quit school and get a job. Ron tells Carol that Tam has left a message for her, saying she is home, Carol is ecstatic as she walks back with Brains and Marty, but The Brown Street Boys soon put a stop to that, Vinnie wants revenge on Brains, he does tell Carol he has no problem with her and calls her a babe, Carol tells them all to get lost but is secretly flattered by Vinnie. Steve goes to Harry to try an get some of his dad's money back, but Harry is suspicious and accuses Steve of hiding Wal, Steve explains about Tam, and Harry hands over some money, he tells Steve it is a gift but he has to tell him if Wal returns. Marty and Brains form an unlikely alliance when Brains decides he wants to get back at The Brown Street Boys. Carol notices something is wrong with Tam and offers her a shoulder to cry on, but Tam doesn't want to know and snaps Carol's head off, feeling guilty she later apologises and they go to the local fort, where they have a chat and become good friends, Carol tells Tam that most of her brothers are sporting heroes except Marty and her dad doesn't take much notice of her because she is a girl. Steve phone's Harry's yard looking for Wal, he pretends to be someone else so Harry doesn't realise they have been left alone, Harry seems edgy himself but doesn't know where Wal is. Steve then meets up with Ahn and takes her to the youth centre, she beats him at pool, but can't stay long, she does allow Steve to walk her half way home though. Harry turns up at the house looking for Wal, and Sally blurts out that all Wal's clothes are gone, Harry is nervous, Sally also tries to convince Helen that Wal has ran away and she is getting suspicious. Steve finds more bills that need paying and they take nearly all their money. Brains and Marty chain all The Brown Street Boys bikes together, only Brains finds out he has gone to far when he also chains up leader of the gang Vinnie Cerantonio's bike too. Tam is finding it too hard living on beans all the time and steals meat from the supermarket, she is caught and kicks the store detective, getting an assault charge as well as shoplifting, this is seen by Miranda and her mother.moreless

Tam remembers Sally and rushes to find her, when she gets to Helen's, Helen fires her. Tam goes to tell Wal and walks in on another argument with Harry, Harry leaves then Wal has a go at Tam for being selfish when he has his own problems. The next morning Wal appologises to Tam, but is still acting strangely. Brains is escorted to school by The Brown Street Boys, him running, them chasing him on their bikes, Marty tells him it won't be the end of it either, when he finds out they were the one's in the cake shop. Carol torments Tam at school, so Tam tells her "Anytime!" and another test is set, this time at a direlict building site, Tam loses the toss again and has to go first, but during the challenge she spots the guard dog heading for Carol, Tam manages to get the dog to chase her instead and they work together to lock it up, then run away from the site. Steve saves Ahn the viatnamease girl a seat on the school bus, and manages to get a conversation with her, Ahn tells Steve she is not allowed to date, her father would never allow it, but after alot of persuading she agrees to meet him one day after school. Tam tells Carol she's had enough and she can call her what she want's but she won't be playing anymore games, surprisingly Carol agrees to call it quits and then wants to be friends. The police car stops at a cake shop that The Brown Street Boys have trashed, they pick up a boy caught up in it all, he is covered in cream cakes and on cleaning him up, Tam finds herself reunited with Brains Buchannan.moreless
