The Honeymooners

Season 5 Episode 27

Head Of The House

Aired Saturday 8:00 PM Mar 31, 1956 on CBS

  • Trivia

    • While cooking dinner, Ralph advises Norton to raise the temperature on the oven: "It'll cook in TWICE the time." Later, he tells Norton to cook the whole box of rice with the justification "If it's too much, I won't eat it." Given the incongruity of this statement (Since when would Ralph decline from eating something?), Gleason must've meant to say something along the lines of "If it's too much, I'll eat it."

  • Quotes

    • Ralph: (to Norton) You and I, we're going home and we're gonna cook that meal ourselves. When Fensterblau gets there tonight, I'll say that Alice cooked it, but she had an appointment, she had to leave.
Norton: That's a good idea. After all, men are the best chefs, aren't they? Oscar of the Waldorf, Pierre of the Ritz, Grace Kelly's father...
Ralph: What does Grace Kelly's father got to do with it?
Norton: He cooked up a pretty sweet dish! (Norton laughs)

    • Ralph:"And I am going up to bring him down and celebrate the amancipation. HA! HA!

    • Alice:"Well i'm sure glad to hear one of you admit it."

    • Ralph:"When we were married I said two things. I do, and i'm the boss."

    • Ralph:"Out of the way girls, some men are gonna do some drinkin."
