    • QUOTES (6)

      • Ralph: Every time I try to do something I get no backing from you. You never get behind me. Other husbands do things and they can always be sure of their wife standing behind them. Why can't you stand behind me?
        Alice: Oh, it's not my fault, Ralph. There just isn't enough room back there.

      • [Ralph is trying to assert his intentions on staying in their frozen, candlelit apartment to Alice..]
        Ralph: I'm the general!! And what I say, GOES!
        Alice: (dripping sarcasm) Then ya' better say "Alice", 'cause I'M GOIN'!!!

      • {Norton, on entering the Kramden's frozen apartment...]
        Norton: I hereby claim this territory for the United States and name it "Little America"!!!

      • [Ralph is trying to to explain to Alice why he's going to pay the $5 rent increase and get the apartment back without appearing he's giving in....]
        Ralph: ...but it's not because I wanna do it! And it's not because it's cold, and I'm hungry!! And it's not because I'm EMBARASSED at being out here!! Don't think it isn't that, Alice, 'cause it isn't! You wanna know what it is? I'll tell you what it is! And you know what it is, as well as--- I know...what it is! You know what it is! I'll tell you what it is!!! (he pauses for a moment, and wags his finger at her) OH, I'LL TELL YOU WHAT IT IS!!! [he finally "gets it"] YOU know, that I know, how easy YOU get virus!!!!!!

        [he storms into the building, while Alice slowly "burns"...]

        Alice: (slowly) Pins and needles, needles and pins....a HAPPY WOMAN is a woman who GRINS!!!!!!!
        {flashes a big, angry, outrageous "grin" as the scene fades to black}

      • Alice:"C'mon Ralph, c'mon lets keep moving. We'll make it easy for the men in the white coats to catch us."

      • Ralph: "Pins and needles, needles and pins, a happy man is a man that grins"
