  • I love the scene when they are having breakfast-pouring fresh coffee from the pot. I have a cup of coffee too while watching this episode. Life was simpler

I love the scene when they are having breakfast-pouring fresh coffee from the pot. I just want to get into my PJ's and join them at the table. When I watch this episode, I have a cup of coffee. The decorated christmas tree is so lovely. I love the snow in the window on christmas morning and just enjoy the simplicity of their lives. No cell phones, TV, video games, computers. Family spend time with each other. Friendships were deep and meaningful. To have a simple place to live, food on the table and wonderful friends were enough.moreless
  • A true holiday classic!!!

A true holiday classic!! That is the only way to describe this episode. There is not a bad scene is this entire show. From Alice and Ralph hiding their gifts from one another, to Ralph finding the mouse trap, to the hair pin box made out of match sticks, to ... you squeeze the orange on Napolen's head and the juice squirts out of his ears. These moments & episodes like this are once in a life time magic. And with the Kramdens & the Nortons making a memorable curtain call to boot. You really get the sense of Christmas here. Make sure to view Twas the Night Before Christmas at least once every holiday. But trust me - its a classic at any time of year!!!moreless

    • [He speaks to Alice after she opened the present.]

Ralph: You know something, sweetheart? Christmas is... well, it's about the best time of the whole year. You walk down the streets, even for weeks before Christmas comes. And there's lights hanging up, green ones, red ones. Sometimes there's snow. Everybody's hustling someplace, but they don't hustle around Christmas time like they usually do. You know, they're a little more friendlier. They bump into you, and they laugh and say, "Pardon me, Merry Christmas"... especially when it gets real close to Christmas night. Everybody's walking home, you can hardly hear a sound. Bells are ringing, kids are singing, snow is coming down. And boy, what a pleasure it is to think that you got some place to go to. And the place that you're going to has somebody in it that you really love. Someone you're nuts about. Merry Christmas.

[Ralph and Alice hug each other.]

    • At one point, Gleason flubs his line, but, recovers quite well: "It's a bowling bag ball! I mean, a bowling ball bag!" Later on, when he's probably supposed to say "I can't put the ball in the bag," he appears to make the most of his previous flub by saying, "I can't put the bowl in the bag."
