  • This show is what happens when CBC suits try to be cool.

This show is what happens when CBC suits try to be cool. The Hour on Newsworld is an obvious and pathetic attempt to go for the "youth" market with a hip, cool, fresh, almost as happenin' as DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince host in George Stromboulodopoulopos. He jumps around, crosses his leg, walks right up to the camera and says hip things like "you know" and "get with it!". The worst part is the 40 year olds or whoever actually watch this junk and think it / they are cool really are a "youth market" as far as CBC knows so they think they are doing a good job. With all the awful shows CBC makes it won't be long before their audience starts to die out and they won't have any viewers left but I guess they don't care about that.
  • I love George, maybe because I'm Canadian, or maybe because I've been watching him since I can remember...I have funny story about him...

He's a great interviewer, gives Canadian musicians a chance, and likes the underground scene. I love his show.
I was in Berlin, and stumbled upon this kooky duo, Trike, playing in a small bar, on tour from Canada and they played a song about George Stroumboulopoulos...unexpected, surreal moment.
I found their video on youtube, if wanna see it:

The only criticism I have is that I hope he revamps the show soon, makes it a bit different, cause it seems to have been the same structure for a while now. But, he's still an interesting guy, concerned with and embracing a shifting music scene.
  • my review is this show sucks i rate it 0 out of 10 the score thing wont even let me submit 0 out of 10

i just wanted to write this and say i was very upset to see that this show had a woman on this evening promoting that being gay or lesbian is a mental deases i missed some of it and im glad i did cuz what i did see was horrible i wont watch this show again this is 2007 when are we gonna move foward with our beliefs its so sad and by the way i am not gay just a concerned citizen this kind of tv is what makes it hard for people tp be excepted in this world we live in
  • This show is horrible, or maybe it's just the host he isn't funny and he obviously doesn't even know what he is talking about.

If you are going to make fun of something at least know what you are talking about, or aboot in this case. Thisa guy talks about American Politics which he obviously knows nothing about, it's just the same propaganda bias crap as in the U.S. I'm not sure if it's just the host, or if he just doesn't have good writers or what? I'm sure he is funny sometimes, and it's not that I don't love to make fun of all American politicians, but he only picks on one person, the President, when he doesn't even know what's going on in the U.S. I'm not saying to not pick on President Bush, but at least pick on someone else for a change, or pick on the Canadian Prime Minster, or learn something about American politics and then make fun of them all you want. He makes Candians look uninformed. I know it's just for entertainment, and I totally like spoofs, but usually those guys just are informed about who they are making fun of before they talk.
  • An irreverent, 'round-the-world, mile-a-minute look at news and current affairs that's actually fun to watch. Hosted by George Stroumboulopoulos.

This is among one of the best news program on TV today. Period. Sure it's intended demographic is for adolescents and young adults, but that isn't the reason I find the show appealing. Unlike the corporate news that dominates the air waves and minds of the of our American counterparts, the hour actually covers the real news. No joke, it's the truth! They cover important stories like the ones about Africa; not about the "Run-away-bride" and MJ's trail all this other garage that is infested on CNN and FNC.

    8.8 this show is great!
