The House of Eliott

Show Summary

Welcome to the TV.com 'House of Eliott' guide. Stella Gonet (Beatrice) and Louise Lombard (Evangeline) star in this BBC 1991-1993 period drama set in the 1920's. It is primarily about two sisters who, after years of strict rules set by their over bearing father, find themselves out on their own and living by new rules. It charts their struggle to assert their newly discovered independence and establish a successful fashion house in post war London. Their personal and professional journey is aided and abetted by Aden Gillet as the fun loving Jazz Age photographer Jack Maddox. The series was written by Jean Marsh and Eileen Atkins, the creators of 'Upstairs Downstairs', and uses interwoven storylines to explore the daily lives of the Eliott sister's friends and workroom staff.
