The Howard Stern Show

Show Summary

Howard Stern changed the face of media with this hit show, which is actually a filmed version of his morning radio show. Howard took freedom of speech to the next level, which kept listeners listening and watchers watching. Howard graduated from Boston University in 1976, where he acquired a first class degree in radio broadcasting. He also began his career as a disc jockey. He was the first D.J. to feature a naked woman on the radio, and has been featuring naked women on his show ever since. When Howard talks, people listen, and when Howard's sidekicks, especially his partner Robin Quivers (who also does news) adds her two-sense in as well its hard to take your ears away. Howards executive producer Gary Dell'Abate is featured a lot in the show, along with Fred Norris, Jackie "The Joke Man" Martling (who is no longer with the show) Artie Lange, "Stuttering" John Melendez, and the list goes on. Howard takes a different approach to interviews, although he does interview celebrities a lot, he occasionally interviews regular people off the street and somehow makes it interesting, which is something very few people in media can do. Howard takes his games to the next level also, whether it be win a night with a porn star, fathers taking off their daughters clothes if they get an answer wrong, homeless jeopardy, evaluting women to see if they're good enough for playboy (brutally honest as well, especially Ralph Circella) and so on. Many porn stars have been featured on Howard's show mostly to look to have intercourse with a listener. Howard has been labeled the "King of Media" and with topics like this he sure has earned that title.

The Howard Stern show was always exciting to watch. With his far out content and all the sexy women guests he welcomed, the show was well worth tuning in to. Guests like Jenna Jameson, Pamela Anderson, etc. were great boosts to the show. The evaluations for Playboy magazine were fun to watch too. Although the panel of judges was pretty harsh usually. Howard always pushed the limit with his content. He had good interaction with his fellow employees on the show and they were pretty funny too. The movie 'Private Parts' came from Howard's climb to the top of radio and featured the show too. Very fun show!moreless
  • In my opinon his TV and radio show, (since obviously the TV show was of the radio show), went down hill fast. As for the Weird Al comment below don't insult Al.moreless

He got really full of himself after Private Parts came out in my opinion. I liked the movie but he acted like it was the best movie in the world which is wasn't. When people call if they don't like him he acts like a 5 year old and insults them with playground comments, it's sad because he is supposed to be smart, and he doesn't need all the hacky gimmicks, which his whole career is based on to be good. I like Robin she is funny and probably takes alot. The who parade of freaks is kind of annoying great they get their moment in the sun, but not without losing their dignity in the process. The show just fizzled out, which is understandable it could only last so long. Even the hot chicks kind of got old, I mean it's not all that fun to watch since it has to be censored anyways. If you have seen one black box over a set of boobs you have seen them all.moreless
  • I wish Stern would come back on "regular" tv even HBO like instead of ondemand.

    10
One of the best shows that aired in the 11 o'clock hour. Forget the news or paid programming, this show makes you laugh until you fall asleep. Sometimes the Howard Stern Show would actually keep me up at night een when I was really tired. This show is one of those "water cooler" shows where people talk about the next day after it airs. When Stern was on, I would regulary bring up a recent episode of the show to my friends who would also share their favorites. Once again, One of the best shows that aired in the 11 o'clock hour.moreless
  • Howard is a true legend. There are many in the media that owe him a debt of gratitude.

    6.0
When Howard hit the air waves, he made our ears bleed, and we screamed for more! The edginess that Howard incorporated into his dialogues, opinions, and general content, opened the doors for so much more today. Whether he is or not, he comes across as honest and sincere when talking about his sponsors, or dealing with certain political issues. The only problem with Howard is what do we consider "going over the limit." While Howard's shows do not offend me, what guidelines are necessary to protect children who might be listening? (Having his own stations and networks seems to be proving itself to be a good idea.)Another thing with Howard's show is a tendency to recycle gags from earlier episodes. (He's been on long enough that some of us old timers are starting to remember them.) Despite all this, he still soldiers on, managing to keep us entertained.moreless
