The Invaders: Are there plans for a DVD release?

Why is it taking so long for The Invaders to get released on DVD? Is it because of legal rights or because they don't think it will sell many sets?

"The Invaders" is available on DVD. All 43 episodes for $58.99 plus shipping.

Its a bootleg if you're serious about purchasing the series. No word on when the studio will put it out if ever.

Great news! Not long ago I went on the website DVD Times. They've posted a new news article today about Paramount's TV DVD releases from July to September on R2. The Invaders is one of them! (I'm not being sarcastic. I am chuffed that an official release is finally happening). Another poster has posted in another of the DVD threads on the IMDb board for The Invaders that it will be available to pre-order soon on Amazon.co.uk.

With the other planned R2 releases in the DVD Times article it states the season coming out. But with The Invaders it dosen't. So at the moment I don't know whether Paramount will be bringing out just season 1 or both seasons of the show. No extras information was mentioned in the article, not even "no extras announced" was in the mention for The Invaders.

Likewise why don't they release the show on other regions not just R2.

I see that the UK set is being put out by Paramount UK, does anyone know who owns the U.S. rights to the show. The Goodtimes Video editions from the late 80s carry the ABC Video logo.

Also, if its coming our in the U.K can a U.S. release be far behind?

Paramount holds the rights to the US release I think and so far no news of a release.

Good news for Aussies:
The Invaders has finally been released in R4 on 8th November. It is currently only available as series 1 (5 DVD set) for special price of $36.95 $A from J&B HiFi (normally $44.99).
Should make a nice stocking filler for this fella!

Paramount will be releasing season one of "The Invaders" in the USA on May 6. Be advised that Paramount is the worst distributer as far as music changers and edited episodes are concerned. Hopefully season one will be realeased in its "original" form.
