  • "Vikor", A Great INVADERS episode

    9.1
    "Superb"
Extremely tense and dramatic, "Vikor" is among the best of the early INVADERS episodes. Jack Lord is excellent as George Vikor, a conflicted, former military hero who has allied himself with the invaders to regain some of his old glory. The aliens, led here by the creepy and ominous Mr Nexus (Alfred Ryder), have promised Vikor he will be a "master" with thousands of "slaves" once the takeover is complete. It doesn't take much imagination to see that Nexus is only interested in what Vikor can do to aid the aliens' campaign, and it's doubtful he'd keep any of his promises. As Mrs. Vikor, Diana Hyland adds much to the episode with her fine performance. She's a troubled alcoholic, but a loving wife, and the couple's relationship is a central part of this story. When George realizes that his wife is in great danger after she co-operates with David Vincent, he is faced with a horrible dilemma. There are several exciting actions sequences in this episode and a few intensely emotional ones as well, all of them made even more effective by Dominic Frontiere's eerie music score. Highly recommended.moreless
