Maurice Riley and Syd Woolsey are a pair of ex-thieves who, after living and hiding out in Spain for a while, decide to return to the UK and retire from their life of crime to a quiet Devon fishing village. When retired life proves too dull for them, and their money starts to run out, they inevitably find themselves pulled back to their old criminal ways.
