EDIT
Dennis Drives Jack to the Hospital
AIRED:
Jack is trying to work on a Julius Caesar sketch, while being pursued by a female fan. Wanting to take over the show for a few weeks, Dennis hatches a plan to make Jack think he's becoming unhinged. He hires an impressionist to make phone calls, as Benny, to receptionists, doctors--anyone and everyone. Naturally, Jack doesn't recall having talked to any of these people and begins to question his sanity. Upon hearing his own voice, and it wasn't coming from his mouth, Jack checks himself into a hospital.moreless

      • According to writer Alan Gill in the "Cedar Rapids Gazette" of 12/3/1963, Bob Blasser was part of a comedy troupe, "B" Productions, which traveled around New England doing shows. In a "last ditch effort" to gain some attention, he began calling up stars using his dead-on Benny impression and fooling them all. Jackie Gleason, Garry Moore, even George Burns were fooled. (Danny Kaye and Jerry Lewis caught on to him, though.) In April, he phoned the Ziegfield Theater where Jack was performing and chatted with several of his regulars. Benny heard about it, was impressed, and invited him to be on a show.
