      • Louise: I just keep thinking about those poor kids in those gangs.
George: You can't do anything about them, Weezie, we had gangs when I was a kid we got gangs now.
Louise: That's right George, and the reason they survive is because of people like you, turning away from the problem, not speaking up because they're afraid of what the gangs might do to them.
George: I ain't afraid of nothing, and I'll prove it to you. (picks up the phone and dials)
        Louise: What're you doing?
George: What I should've done a couple hours ago...Hello? Yes I have some information for you regarding a couple gangs in Harlem that's been causing you so much trouble.

      • L.C.: If you want to know anymore about the Black Widows, I'll tell you.
        Jenny: But Domino said...
L.C.: I know what he siad, I'm still going to tell you.
        Jenny: What changed your mind?
        L.C. Huey.
George: Huey!? You mean that little punk?
L.C.: Yeah, the Pallbearer's hit us after you left, Huey finally got the medals he wanted.
Jenny: Oh no, is he badly hurt?
        L.C.: He's dead.

      • Jenny: How old are you, Huey?
        Huey: 12 and a half.
Jenny: What does your family think of you being in a gang?
Huey: The gang is my family.
Tom: (to the Black Widows) What's the matter with you? He's a boy!
        Huey: Who you calling boy?
Tom: I mean a young man.
Jenny: (to the Black Widows) How can you let him join? He's just a kid.
Slick: Hey, you gotta grow up fast around here.

      • Jenny: Who's Domino?
        Huey: The leader.
Jenny: How'd he get to be leader?
Huey: He has the most medals.
        Jenny: Medals?
Slick: Yeah, battle scars, see, I got this one in a knife fight.
Rollo: I got this from a pallbearer's bullet.
        Jenny: They shot you?!
Rollo: Na, they threw the bullet at me.
Huey: I haven't gotten any medals yet, but Domino says I'll get them soon.
Tom: I don't believe this, you guys are being shot and stabbed and you don't even care!

      • Tom: I'll just go to Harlem and get her.
George: How're you going to do that? You don't even know where she is.
        Tom: Where there's a will, there's a way.
George: And where there's a Willis, theres's a dumb idea. You need to take somebody with you who knows the streets.
        Tom: Oh thank you, George.
        George: Not me, take Florence.
Florence: No way, only thing I know about those streets is to stay off them.
George: I'll go with you then. (to Louise) We'll get there in half an hour and call you to let you know where we are.
Florence: They won't be able to do that, Mrs. Jefferson.
        Louise: Why not?
Florence: They don't allow you to make phone calls at the morgue.

      • Florence: That was Jenny, she said she won't be home for dinner.
        Tom: Is she running late?
Florence: Before the night's over she might be running for her life, she's up in Harlem with the Black Widows.
Tom: Who are the Black Widows, a senior citizen group?
Helen: No, they're a street gang.
Tom: Our daughter joined a street gang?
        Helen: No.
        Tom: Oh good.
