  • A sad farewell to Mel Blanc as well as to many of the originals who made "The Jetsons" a memorable series.

This big-screen adaptation of "The Jetsons" may have been a test to see if a third "Jetsons" installment--"Super Jetsons"--could be launched on television by Hanna-Barbera. Unfortunately, those plans never materialized. What we're left is simply a long, drawn-out episode of what life might be like if the Jetsons actually had to leave Orbit City and find life in a remote galaxy. I automatically subtracted one point because of Tiffany replacing Janet Waldo as the voice of Judy Jetson; this is an otherwise well-produced movie that will leave me looking forward to another big-screen adaptation that is tentatively scheduled for next year (the Jetsons' 50th anniversary).moreless

This changed everything I felt about The Jetsons! The animation was beautifully done. A little ruff in the outline, but nicely done. The Jetsons are legendary and will forever be a 10/10.moreless

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • Goof: After George presses the button again at the plant, in the next scene while he's chuckling, the background has changed into the room of his new home before the next scene returns to the plant.

  • QUOTES (3)

    • (George pops out of a box of sprockets with a sprocket stuck on the end of his nose. Just then, dozens of screens with Mr. Spacely starring angrily at him appear all around him)
Mr. Spacely: Now what, Jetson? What is it this time?
George: Just another little glitch, Mr. Spacely!
Mr. Spacely: Another little glitch, eh?
George: (gets the sprocket off his nose) Yes, sir.
Mr. Spacely: I think I know what the glitch is, Jetson, and I'm looking at him!
      George: Gulp!

    • George: (running on the conveyor belt) Stop this crazy thing!
      Rudy 2: I can't. I can't. It's stuck!

    • Rudy 2: George, there's something you should know. Since the plant opened, there's been an unusual amount of...
      George: Glitches?
Rudy 2: Uh-huh. I thought we cleared them all up, but they keep happening. It may be safer for you to just leave
George: What!? And lose my chance to be a vice-president? No way!
      Rudy 2: But George...
George: Not another word! George Jetson doesn't run away from a glitch. We just need to make a few repairs tomorrow and then the magic Jetson finger will show just what it can do.
(George accidentally hits his bandaged finger on a lamp and he yells in pain)
