  • "The Jetsons" become a hot topic again as a great episode brings it back from a 22 year hiatus! :!:

Whatever anybody says, this can't and won't be called a comeback, because "The Jetsons" never went anywhere! Actually, the truth is complicated. "The Jetsons" was such an icon, nobody noticed that no new episodes of the show were made from 1963 to 1985. But with a new generation of writers and artists came a new batch of ideas that gave "The Jetsons" the re-boot it needed to be a prime-time hit once again! And this episode is a great reminder of why "The Jetsons" became iconic. Judy's got boy problems, but it's not her usual inability of being able to find a date. Judy can't find a cool boy to bring to her surprise birthday party, and nobody even seems to notice that Judy's birthday Is coming up! Judy thinks her family operates on the basis of reverse psychology, meaning if Judy tells her family to Not throw a surprise party, then they will throw a surprise party! Meanwhile, there is one boy who wants to accept Judy's invitation. But because Carl is a techno-space whiz, Judy only sees him as a dorky, geeky nerd. And definitely not boyfriend material, even when Carl fixes Judy's car for her. Yet despite Judy's ignoring of him, and not so subtle hints to her family, nobody jumps out to surprise her, and nobody brings her presents. Well, almost nobody. Carl comes to the house technically un-invited. But in Judy's situation, she'll take Anything she can get! As it turns out, Carl is a caring, sensitive, sincere, slightly shy, but a very kind soul, who shows Judy that it's not what a person looks like on the outside, but it's what's inside that truly matters the most. Carl's presence cheers up Judy...as Judy ends up getting a surprise party! Her family remembered her birthday after all, and went all out for her as they brought her guests and gifts she had always dreamed about! But Judy is most happy with Carl's gift, which is the gift of respecting others for their inner beauty, and not just their outer beauty! Enough said! ;)moreless
