  • Dan "Hoss" Blocker and Gorden Lightfoot guest on this Show

    9.6
This Show features Gorden Lightfoot doing a couple of songs including "If you could read my Mind" and an Appearence by Dan Blocker from "Bonanza". Dan Blocker brought a young Guitar Player and singer with him to perform on the show. The Show itself is wonderful, as it is a treasured "Time capsule" of that era and some of the Best Musical Entertainers of the day. It does suffer from a Dated Format and the typical Background sets of the 60's/70's. At times it looks like "The Laurence Welk Show", as both were produced at the same time. But, it is the Touch of Johnny Cash and his Wife: June Carter, that give this show the charm that has endured 35+ years. The "Best of Johnny Cash Show" DVD has been viewed and has definately been Digitally Re-Mastered. The sound is wonderful and the color is sharp. Compared to the Un-Restored "Raw" footage it is as good as any DVD out there. One great feature of the "Best Of" DVD's is the extra footage of Artists and behind the scenes people like the Musical Director and Hair Stylist, even John Carter Cash, Talking about the show and what went on at the time.moreless
