The Johnny Jellybean Show

Show Summary

The Johnny Jellybean Show was a local children's program airing in New York City in 1959 and 1960. It evolved from an earlier children's show featuring Johnny Jellybean (Bill Britten) a comic, bumbling character dressed in an oversized striped jacket and polka dot bow tie. When Keith Hefner succeeded Britten, the show was renamed The Johnny Jellybean Show. The setting was Johnny's clubhouse, where he entertained kids with familiar running jokes and ate his lunch while the TV audience at home had theirs.
