The Jury (2002)

Show Summary

A teenage boy has been killed. His Sikh classmate is on trial for the murder. The jurors find the eyes of the nation fixed on them as they begin a trial that will change their lives, and has at its heart a powerful statement about justice and race relations. The jurors have come from all walks of life and for some, jury service is a chance to change their lives, while others see it as a duty of honour. As they come face to face with the trauma of the trial, they must deal with their own dilemmas as well. The pressure is increased when the public takes a side and the victim's family decides to take justice into their own hands. Two of the country's most prestigous and ruthless barristers, George Cording and Gerald Lewis, plead their cases but ultimately the decision will be made by the jury... For the first time, cameras have been allowed inside the Old Bailey to capture a stunning, controversial mini-series created and written by Peter Morgan, and directed by Pete Travis. Starring some of Britain's finest - including Derek Jacobi, Anthony Sher, Gerard Butler, Helen McCrory, Sylvia Syms, Michael Maloney, Nicholas Farrell, Stuart Bunce, Nina Sosanya and many others - The Jury is a television event like no other.

The series is available from Amazon UK and Amazon US.
