The Kids in the Hall

Season 1 Episode 6

Aired Unknown Nov 21, 1989 on 60 Frames

  • Trivia

    • Mark almost cracks a smile but holds it in at the very last part of the "Indian Drum" sketch. Watch as the last object plops his head.

  • Quotes

    • Kevin: (As Elvis) I just came up to fix the tub. Tub is like a voice. You don't work on the pipes, THE PIPES GET RUSTY!

    • Mark: I believe the aliens are here to collect decorative spoons. My own store has been visited three times by three separate groups of aliens, and each time, although they initially expressed a lot of interest in the beer mug shaped like a tit, their only purchase was the Stevenville commemorative spoon. In fact the last group complained, quite tellingly, I think. They said, "Why don't you have a spoon that just says 'Earth'? It would save time.

    • Dave: Yup, and the teacher says it's not just an ordinary C either.. it's a special C. A C with promise.
      Scott: Well done!
Dave: She says it's still too soon to say, but I might not be stupid.

  • Notes

    • HBO was originally not going to allow the "Explore Scott" sketch, until producers brought it to their attention that they show naked women on the network all the time, and would protest their nudity stance if they didn't allow male nudity. The sketch was quickly allowed.

    • While the Head Crusher sketches had already been done in previous episodes, more fans remember the one outside the Night Club than any other version.

    • The "Geralds" sketch was one Bruce held over from his SNL writer days after it was rejected several times by the staff.

  • Allusions

    • "Elvis" Sketch: Charlie Brown Dance
In the "Elvis" sketch, Bruce, Scott, Dave, and Mark's dancing is, of course, taken from A Charlie Brown Christmas. Complete with the Charlie Brown type striped shirts, the theme song, and the dancing moves.
