  • One of the funniest episodes of the season!

    8.8
Most of the sketches in this episode made me laugh so hard that my stomach was feeling pain after the last sketch! The one at the beginning was definitley good for a laugh along with all of the other "It's a fact!" sketches (not to mention one of them had the very first appearance of the queen.)

"The secret of broadway" didn't make me laugh at all, and the "Cuttin' it close" sketches were just plain shocking (well at

least the second one when they showed the naughty part for a split second). The best skits out of all of them were the "Mispronouncer" and the "Dead fish" ones. They were just so well written and laugh out loud funny.moreless

  • TRIVIA (3)

  • QUOTES (2)

    • Bruce: In America. Where spelling doesn't count...people's PETS do. Where else can a guy get a job riding a whale at Marineland, but in America? In America, a guy's girlfriend breaks up with him over the phone...so he gets a gun, and kills the principal. Everyone is sad, until they get the day off. Next week: another guy, another gal, another "we can still be friends" phone call...uh-oh! The assistant principal gets it. And everyone's sad, because they DON'T get the day off. Because he's just the ASSISSTANT principal.

    • Girl: Wanna know something else? (Runs up to camera) It's A Fact. The Queen of England doesn't know her ABC's anymore.
(Girl ducks down, we see the Queen)
      Scott: (Singing) A-B-C-D-X-P-Q. R-X-Y-V... Hello! R-P...
      (Girl jumps back up)
Girl: Sad, eh? She's old! It's A Fact.

  • NOTES (4)

  • ALLUSIONS (1)

    • In his tongue-in-cheek speech "That's America," Bruce McCulloch makes the facetious extollment: "Where else can a guy get a job riding a whale at Marineland, but in America?"

In Canada, actually...Niagara Falls, Ontario, to be exact. There are only two existing aquarium theme parks called Marineland, one in Florida and one in Ontario. Besides the waterfalls themselves, Marineland of Canada is one of the area's biggest tourist attractions, operating from Victoria Day weekend through Canadian Thanksgiving weekend.

In order for this particular American idiosyncracy to "hold water," Bruce would have been better off referencing Seaworld...a more appropriate commercial allusion unique to the USA.
