    Hi,

    Does anyone know who Joseph Knipfing is? Is he Kevin and Gary's father? Grandfather? Uncle?

    Either way, the tone of the finale and Doug's attitude towards Arthur makes sense in that light.

    I believe, although I don't know for certain, that Joseph Knipfing is Kevin and Gary's father.  I know Kevin's real last name is Knipfing, and he has said before that he named Doug's parents on KOQ (Joe and Janet) after his real life parents.  So it would follow that Joseph Knipfing would be Kevin and Gary's father.

    I think the dedication was for Joseph F. Knipfing, and everyplace I can see lists Kevin/Gary's father as Joseph V. Knipfing. Unfortunately, I'm not 100% sure since I accidentally wiped it off my DVR because the credits ran a tad long and got cut off and when the prompt to delete came up I wasn't ready for it and *POOF*.

    From this, I see a few possibilities:

    • it's a grandfather (uncle is doubtful as it would mean two brothers named Joseph)
    • I'm wrong, and it was F. and it's their father
    • it was a typo (F is right above the V) and it's their father

    I checked my tape from the season finale, and the dedication was for Joseph V. Knipfing.  I'm guessing, then, that it's their father, but I'm not 100% sure.
