I thought the two new shows that aired tonight were decent, I am seeing a problelm once again.  I'm sick of the wirters constanly making Doug's character look like a complete idiot.  Carrie always seems to get the upper hand in her fights/debates with doug, and I'm sick of it

absolutely true, it is turning me off completely, her big mouth ruling him drives me crazy and doug is such a nice guy it is not funny anymore, they need to geat rid of this over done premise

The first episode seemed to be a re-hash of many other themes from earlier KOQ episodes, and it wasn't real funny.

The second episode was much funnier. The show certainly isn't at its peak, but at least the actors seemed interested in their parts, and the writing was still better than the vast majority of current TV sitcoms.

First one was okay. Doug had some really funny lines, I liked the Carry and Family stuff. And Doug didn't look stupid, just a little immature.

    Second one was excellent.

anyone else notice that kaplan was now kaufman?

anyway, the first one was great, especially the part whole scene with the wiffle bat.  the second one was excelent as well.  and, while she doesn't look as good as she did in seasons two-four, carrie is looking pretty damn good again.  wish she'd re-shoot that stripper pole episode now..

I haven't watched KOQ in a while (besides repeats on TBS). Can someone tell me when Carry started smoking? At the end she grabs a pack of ciggaretes and walks outside.

Didn't she like start smoking a long time ago? Then she stopped or something and now she's starting again. Or was it that she only smokes when she upset or stressed... Correct me if I'm wrong.

There was that episode Queasy Rider in season 2 where she said she would take up smoking again if Doug didnt sell his motorcycle. She was an addict before. Kind of sounds like one too

Brian92- I remember that episode too, but she didn't smoke on the show after that, I think.

Actually, I just remembered another one. Episode "Departure Time", late season 3

Carrie's seen sitting in an airport terminal lounge alone, smoking a cigar instead of helping Doug's parents with their tickets like she said she would

Yep, I remember that one too. Well, I read that she smokes in real life, which explains how she gained all that weight when she was pregnant. She must have quit and started up again after the baby was born. It's hard enough to lose baby fat, but if you quit smoking too, you're gonna blow up.
