The Law of Real Strength!
AIRED:
Ueki talks with Pekol who wishes to be strong just like Ueki. Inspired by Ueki's defeat of Gitar, he decides to quit working with Gurano. When he confronts his teammate about this, though, Pekol is verbally deflated and submits to Gurano's whims. With the ability to turn models into the real thing, Gurano summons a giant robot to combat Ueki. With no robot of his own, Ueki must rely on his own abilities. With a bit of ingenuity, Ueki knocks down the first robot, but Gurano summons another more powerful machine. How can Ueki keep fighting someone who can create an endless supply of powerful opponents?moreless

  • Cleverly plotted..but sometimes a bit too much..

    9.1
This episode was a bit too full of coincidences. For example, I’d like to have had a reason for why Pekol and Gurano have such matching powers. It’s also a bit strange that Mori has to be with every fight. Okay, she’ll make sure of some good laughs, but it still irks me.

I’m attracted to Pekol's story. I like the way he believes he’s weak and can do nothing and I also like the way he realizes that he can be something if he wants to.

About the battle, I believe it was a bit too long. It had a lot of useless time-filling moves, who could’ve been replaced by other things. I did like the way the second mecha was destroyed. In there, you really could see the creativeness working overtime.moreless
  • Mecha action? SWEET!!!

    9.0
As Pekol and Ueki continue to run away from the oranges, Pekol uses his ability to drive them out. Then, Gurano appears, along with Mori, who challenge Ueki. Thanks to Pekol's ability to change pictures into sculptures, and Gurano's ability to change sculptures into reality, along with his level 2 power to control those he creates into real life, he whips himself up a large mecha unit! Ueki fights bravely against something a 1000x his size, and even prevails using careful strategizing. However, Gurano creates an even stronger mecha unit come to life. Pekol then has a change of heart, and refuses to aid Gurano any longer. Though despite that, Gurano is still an extremely formidable opponent with his mecha. Ueki however, again using careful planning, defeats the golden mecha. Gurano uses his trump card; a sculpture of Ueki! He tells him to defeat the evil in front of him, but the command backfired, as he himself was the evil. A new part of the map was shown, fortunately, with the treasure on it. Ueki's team advances!

For like the third episode in a row, Law of Ueki delivers yet another fantastic and mouth drooling battle. I honestly didn't expect anything out of the fight scenes here in Law of Ueki after watching Rave Master, which was a project also done by Studio Deen. Though I guess it's all dependent on the manga author. While it didn't deliver the mouth drooling, jaw dropping strategies the previous episode featured, it did deliver some sweet fanservice with the whole mecha thing. Since watching Star Wars as a kid, I've always been interested in sci fi's; mainly mechanical robots. There's just something about them that make my mouth drool. Anyways, it was equally wonderful how Ueki stood his own against an oversized opponent, as well as the tactic to defeating him. It was also great how the fight ended on a humourous note with the sculpture Ueki going against his own creator. While I'm not any sort of fan of these life lessons delivered in shounens, I have to admit that the lesson displayed in this episode was a lot more watchable than any previous ones I've encountered in both Law of Ueki, and shounen anime in general. With three episodes delivering three awesome fights in a row, you can only have high hopes for what's about to come for Law of Ueki.moreless
