  • We want to buy the series on DVD!

"The Legend of Jesse James" was a good--but under-rated--TV western series with a fine cast of regulars and guests. Outlaw Jesse James was portrayed by actor Chris Jones ("Wild in the Streets") as a "Robin Hood" type largely the product of society--a makeover of historical fact well-suited to the 1960s and the modern era. This was Chris Jones first starring role. He was joined by a host of veteran actors, and Charles Bronson, Kurt Russell and Susan Strasberg were among the many guest stars. Although the series ran only one year, it has garnered a legion of devoted fans. This series deserves the full DVD treatment just as much as many other TV westerns, and we fans will not rest until we get it!
  • This was a classic TV Western series.

The Legend of Jesse James was one of the better westerns to ever appear on television. Even beyond that, it is one of the better shows on television period. The writing was so good that it still holds up to today's standards. The regular cast was outstanding. The guest starts were absolutely fantastic. In this time period of television many famous actors would make appearances on great television shows such as this. Then there were the up and coming actors that would go on to become huge stars and used this as a springboard of sorts. All in all a great show that can still be watched today without missing a beat.
