Lovely, warm Patricia Crowley played the ex-wife of stern, dedicated Captain Raymond Rambridge (Robert Vaughn). The chance to learn more about Rambridge and the two attractive leads made this a compelling episode.

Metro Goldwyn Mayer, which made "The Lieutenant", was producing a pilot for a new series "Solo" (eventually to be called "The Man from Uncle".)Their first choice for the lead was Robert Culp, but he was not interested. Vaughn was sorely underused on "The Lieutenant" and was looking to advance his career. Meto finally gave him the lead in "Uncle", much to everyone's delight.moreless
