June demonstrates visible strain while lifting the fattened-up Monroe before fleeing. Sure, he's comically overweight, but June has previously displayed far greater feats of strength with much less apparent effort. She shouldn't have any trouble with him.
Have you noticed all the directors wears the same suit Ophelia wears in this episode? Why?
Melissa: (singing)
If happy little bluebirds fly- (speaking) If they fly! Over the rainbow, Why, can't, I!!!!! (everybody winces except Madame)
Madame: Wonderful! Melissa dear, you're the princess! (Melissa gives a squeal of approval)
June: (clears her throat, then sings)
Clang clang clang went the trolley,
Ding ding ding went the bell,
Zing zing zing-
Madame: No, no, no, try something more outspoken child, let me FEEL the song! (gets up on stage, to piano player) Donny put it on C minor baby! (piano intro plays, then she sings)
Clang, clang, clang, went the trolley,
Ding, ding, ding, went the bell,
Zing, zing, zing, went my heartstring!
For the first time I saw you I-Ahhh! (falls)
Jody: (singing)
I'm singin' in the rain,
Just singin' in the rain,
What a glorious feelin',
I'm happy again!
Ophelia: Jody, you're the princess. (Jody shrieks out with joy) Melissa, (insert boy's name here), you're the cow, and Melissa, GET IN THE BACK END! (laughs)
Ophelia: Did you check the dressing room? Well, check it again! (sees Roger on stage and screams)
Roger: (singing) I know that i'm not the smartest guy. I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed.
Ophelia: No way.
Ophelia: What? What do you mean you can't find June? She's got to be around here someplace. (yelling) SOMEBODY FIND JUNE! (shakes her fists in frustration)
Ophelia: (after Roger interupts) Roger! For the tenth time, you are not in this scene.
Roger: But I've only got two lines at the end of the play. I just run out and scream, "Power to the beans! Power to the beans!"
Ophelia: And if you come in early one more time, I'm gonna cut it down to NO lines. Comprende? Bikers, you're killing me here. You're absolutely killing me. You're the vicious scorge of the road. Let me see some grip. And grim reaper, you're supposed to be the bringer of death. Hello! When you come out on that stage, I want that audience dead. Get it? DEAD! (calmly) But I must say I think it was your best effort yet. Take five. (yelling) BUT ONLY FIVE!
Ray Ray: I'm the goose in Jack and the Beanstalk. I fire off gold eggs right outta my can.
Roger: Hey, Ophelia, what about me?
Ophelia: Still the village idiot, Roger. Can't argue with perfect casting.
June: It's Edipan, you idiots. You're supposed to be on vacation!
Dimitri: I don't observe Edipan.
Henchman: He's not crazy about Labor Day either.
June: Ophelia, I can't play Jack. In case you hadn't noticed, I'm a girl... and kinda Chinese.
First appearance of Melissa, June's school nemesis.
Other Magical Creature(s): Skunk Monster
At the beginning of the play, Monroe is sit near Scotty in the middle of the file, but when Ray Ray go wit he, Monroe is in the edge of the file.

Songs used in the auditions: "Over the Rainbow" (from The Wizard of Oz), "Singin' in The Rain" (from Broadway Melody of 1928 and the self-titled movie), "The Trolley Song" (from Meet Me in St. Louis). Thanks to the merger of Time Warner and Turner, who held the rights to the pre-1980s MGM/United Arts movies, this was made possible similar to "Aba-Dabba Honeymoon" in "It Takes A PIllage."
Credits: After eating like a pig, Monroe has to run on the tranmill. Then he falls off.
This episode confims that June's family is Chinese.
The first episode to use Closed Captioning in "roll-up format."
Title: it is also a take on the movie, "Death Takes a Holiday."
Roger's act, before Madame Rothchild enterupted it, was most likely a song from Cats, which was named one of the best musicals in america.
Character: Madame Rothchild
The theatre's teacher looks like Yzma from Disney's movie The Emperor's New Groove.
Episode Title: Magic Takes a Holiday
The title of this episode is a take on the famous saying, "Logic takes a holiday."
