      • Michelle: You know, you're lucky, being able to read people. I wish I knew what was going on in people's minds. It would make life so much easier.
Toby: Yeah, you would think, but it's kind of like the opposite of making life easier. I couldn't even read my girlfriend if I wanted to.
Michelle: Yeah, but there must be some reason for that. Maybe she's an alien.
Toby: She's definitely not an alien. I've checked. She's got the human parts.

      • Toby: Man, it's crazy. Paula King. Her world falls apart. She's married to this guy for years, doesn't know who he really is. It-it's insane.
Michelle: Most relationships end up in disappointment one way or another.
Toby: Sorry, I-I didn't drink the optimist coffee this morning like you did.
Michelle: (laughs) I'm actually more of a realist.
        Toby: Realist?
        Michelle: Yes.
Toby: So, OK, when it comes to relationships, your glass is half empty?
Michelle: Half empty, half-full, I don't know. The glass usually ends up shattered anyways.
Toby: Whoa. OK, so when I get married, I'm not inviting you to make a speech.

      • Adam: You know, we've got to enjoy this while we can. Who knows how long it'll be until we have a little rug rat jumping on the bed just when we want to have some quality time?
Michelle: (stunned) Where did that come from?
Adam: I don't know. I just thought you and I should have a kid someday, no?
Michelle: Are you serious? You're serious right now, aren't you?
        Adam: Yeah. No?
        Michelle: I don't know. I mean, I've... I never... Us, parents?
Adam: Happens all the time, Mich. Why not for us?
