Everything was well written and it was nice to see a more personal side to Marks and other characters. Everyone had high emotions in this episode and it was nice to see how they all came together to support one another. This case evolved a student getting raped and Marks took it personal she shared something in common with the victim and it turns out it maybe the same rapist from the past. All of them work together to try to stop the rapist with a few twist and turns the turn of events were shocking. Well written episode by far this was the best of the season so far in season 1moreless
  • A girl was brutally raped in a park. Toby helps with the information that the man wore a white mask. This and the keeping of the shoes as a souvenir make Detective Charlie Marks suspect Brian Litvack, a man she arrested years ago but had to let go.moreless

This episode gives great insight why Charlie is so reserved about Toby's talents. It also shows in which ways Toby suffers from his gift.

If I liked the first episodes I LOVED this one.

we see Toby helping the victim as he is assaulted by her memories. Right then I decided (again) that I would never want to be in his place. Charlie she reacts hostile to the information Toby gives her, accusing him of violating the girl's privacy.

A confused Toby talks to Ray Mercer and Oz about the privacy issue. Ray obviously makes him realize something he hasn't considered before. It is totally odd that Toby should never have considered this aspect before and somewhat artificial. I would have thought about it before, having a talent like that,

and Toby is someone who spends enough time analyzing his situation. But fine, now everybody is informed about the negative side of mindreading.

To lighten up things, Oz is completely relaxed and jokes about it, showing his trust in Toby. Good thing Toby has a friend like that.

We also get more to see of Charlies personality which gives her a "nice" bit of background (there is nothing "nice" about herexperiences...). There is an absolutely great dialogue between Toby and her.

We see how strongly and terribly the emotions and memories of others influence Toby. Great acting on both accounts.

The B-story between Oz, Olivia and her former teacher lightens up the atmosphere, and is not too strong or weak to disrupt or annoy. IMHOmoreless
  • Well done episode...

...and its nice to see this finally.

Everything "fit". There were no real gaping holes in the story or its presentation that I had to perform death-defying leaps of faith to accommodate for.

Craig Olejnik's performance seems to have matured overnight and so too has his character, "Toby". There is a definite working chemistry with Lisa Marcos' "Charlie" and I suppose it does help that she is now in on his gift. Maybe that's what filled what I hope was the last great gap in the series for me.

The episode unfolded its story without trying to gloss over some serious personal/career implications for both characters, and in fact it used those points to SCORE points as a mature and interesting and possible series, with a real story to tell.

I admit I was a doubting Thomas for the first (personally) rocky episodes, but I'm glad I kept coming back. And now I think I'm here to stay...moreless
