  • Mysterious Person

    8.0
Toby continues to try and get information from the elderly man that lost his memory, thru time he starts to remember more and more and tells Toby each time. Toby also helps him along the way, things start to accelerate as this mysterious man shows up and claims to be a good guy. But, things turns out to be different not a lot of twist here but we did learn a lot. I also believed that crammed a lot into one episode, I wish they took another episode to finesse this. The ending is not what I hope for all in all I liked the humor I see that this is improving episode after episode. I like how he told Olivia the truth about everything.moreless
  • Toby continues to try to find out what the Alheimer's patient knows about his past. A mysterious man shows up.

    9.0
The plot thickened quite a bit with regard to Toby's back ground in this episode. Frank is only about to remember bits and pieces, while Toby is getting hits out of nowhere that are very strong. The mysterious guy is on Toby's trail - looking for him. He's just this side of creepy and ominious and Toby's friends don't give up any details. Olivia almost does, by Frank manages to convince her not to. Toby finally tells Olivia his secret! (About time, I'm telling you). Charlie get's shot trying to protect Toby and Frank from the mysterious stranger. And Frank is sorting through his jumbled memories to figure out where Toby's mom is. (Seem's she sent him). And seems the hits Toby has been getting of a car accident have been her calling to him for help. The situation with the myserious guy works itself out somewhat when Frank shoots him to protect Toby, leaving Toby, Oz and Olivia to try to figure out where Toby's mom may be. In the end, they find the place, they find the car, but no Toby's mom. . . . And that's the last episode I've heard anything about. Hopefully more episodes get made and we get more on this story line. I think with each episode this show has been coming into its own. I enjoyed this one in particular - very fast paced and I really felt for Toby and his desire to find out who he was.moreless
  • Exactly where I wanted this to go!

    10
I saw most of the series online and was hoping since I first saw it that this plot line would come up. I actually thought that Victor would end up torturing Toby or something in the ep the way it was heading, I mean, he could provide a clear false image that Toby believed was true. Charlie get's shot and Olivia knows... getting stronger and stronger I say.

Plot line was excellent, kept me at the edge of my seat, and the fluency was excellent. Overall, I say this is an excellent episode.

I definitely hope this ends up coming back for a second season, this actually might turn out to be the Flashpoint of this summer, Flashpoint did the same thing when it first started up, and look at how well that's gone :)moreless
  • I would say that The Listener ended the season in a great note...and I;m thinking it too!

    10
I liked the way it was wrapped up......but I'm crossing my fingers it will continue a second season!! I was left with too many questions and its killing me. I found the series through out the 13 episodes to mature and to be a great option for fine entertainment which is the main reason to watch TV! The season ended with more questions than anwers but I loved having Toby being honest with Olivia, that will take a big toll and will allow him to move forward with their relationship and I loved the way she just beleived him and make them closer....Now I just wish we get that 2nd season to answer a lot of questions,,,what a Clifhanger!moreless
  • Not a series-ending kind of episode, though apparently NBC didn't bite...

    7.5
...but did CTV?? I can't seem to find that information anywhere...

It was a dream to see Gordon Pinsent AND Colm Feore on screen in the same episode. Both are usually stellar actors though I do believe Pinsent outshone Feore in this one...

There was a reasonably good amount of tension building in the episode, all of which seemed to be leading the story away from the ordinary, everyday and driving it more towards the twilight zone. And out-of-left-field can be a good thing.

Olivia got on board, and yet her addition to those in the know does not seem to faze her all that much. Surprising.

Charlie almost gets capped and spends the bulk of her appearance in a post operative coma. How's that for a "thanks for your work this season"??

Oz is almost incidental in the show until almost then end, though it was a development to see Ryder show some backbone and independent thought in keeping the bad guy at bay...

And at the end we were left with: nothing more than we started the season with.

I came away feeling that this would have been a better early to mid-season episode, and then building the series to a deeper story line. Instead, it just seems to stall. I hate to agree with NBC, but I think the opportunity for The Listener was a missed one. Too bad; the premise had merits.moreless
