The Lucky Strike Hit Parade

Show Summary

The Lucky Strike Hit Parade is a classic 1950s television variety entertainment show that was sponsored by Lucky Strike cigarettes. Andre Baruch hosts the early 1950s episodes, while Del Sharbutt takes over the hosting duties during the 1957 to 1958 season. Dorothy Collins, Snooky Lanson, Russell Arms and Gisele MacKenzie are some of the top billing performers who appear on some of the show's episodes. These individual singers along with other individuals and singing groups and bands present the top tunes for the week, reserving the top two or three popular hits until the end of the show. Now and again, the segment features an older popular song from the past, billed as the Lucky Strike Extra.
