Episode Summary

EDIT
Chris Goes Steady
AIRED:

When Chris and Ted Mooney start "going steady," their overreacting parents use reverse psychology to kill the romance by planning their kids' wedding. Chris recognizes her mother's scheme, so the teens pretend they're planning to elope. Camped out in the boys' tree house, Lucy and Mr. Mooney hold an all-night vigil to catch the pair when they try to sneak away.

      • Chris: We both like the same Hootenanny singers, we both wear Beethoven sweatshirts, and and we both do our homework listening to Dave Brubeck's Jazz Combo.

Hootenanny was a music series that aired on ABC for a year (1963-1964) during the height of the folk music craze. It taped performances at college campuses around the USA. Dave Brubeck is a jazz musician best known for his recording "Take Five."
