"Perfect"

An episode that should be required viewing on all college campuses. Can the viewer be anything but awed by this solid half hour of peerless acting and flawless writing, not to mention a multitude of subliminal inserts, both visual and audial? Hardly. Lucy seems almost in a rush to bypass the the carefully crafted 'lulls' and get to the wacky, and pregnant, 'hijinks'. With her glowing red-orange hair and bright blue eyeshadow she mugs her way through this farce as if she relied on Viv merely for dumb gaffes and juvenile mishaps. (Rumor has it that Lucy took some helium). Dated, sure, but there's no producer in Hollywood that would touch this stuff today, let alone watch it. I enjoyed it so much that I incorporated it in my short story, Kiddie Parties, Inc. Sound familiar? Watch for John Travolta among the kiddies. Ed Asner can be seen briefly behind the bushes as Lucy makes her famous balloon flight. I won't spoil the climax by mentioning it. Sublime.moreless
