This is the last episode of The Lucy Show. Lucille Ball has, by this time, sold Desilu Productions (and along with it, the format for The Lucy Show) to Gulf & Western Productions, and she did not wish to continue to produce a show that she no longer owned. She will return the following September with a revamped and retitled series, Here's Lucy.
