    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    • TRIVIA (0)

    • QUOTES (2)

      • Lucy: (with Viv in the shower as the water reaches the top) You know, you'd think that the people who designed this thing would prepare for an emergency exit.
Viv: I doubt if an emergency like this crops very often!

      • Lucy: You'd think there'd be some sort of a contingency plan for this kind of thing.
Vivian: Well, I don't imagine this sort of a contingency comes up very often!

    • NOTES (2)

      • This is one of two first-season episodes (and 30 episodes overall) that are in the public domain, which accounts for its appearance in unofficial/cheap/low-quality DVD sets.

      • Lucille Ball later said she nearly drowned during the filming of this episode when she found herself unable turn upright in the tank of water. Aware of the situation, Vivian Vance pulled Lucy to the surface and then add-libbed until Lucy could catch her breath and resume her lines. The live audience thought this was all hysterically funny and was unaware of the severity of the situation.
