Low Tidings
AIRED:
Flapjack wants to celebrate the Stormalong Harbor holiday of Low Tidings, where the ocean recedes completely out of sight from the town, and people lower their boots in the hopes of receiving gifts inside of them. But Captain K'nuckles doesn't like the holiday because when he was a kid, not only did he not receive a present, he got put into a sack and beaten by merman for being a bad kid. Unable to find a hiding place, Flapjack tries to show Captain K'nuckles how to be a good person. But Flapjack is going to need more than apologies and a Low Tidings Day Pageant to save Captain K'nuckles from the wrath of attacking Merman. It's going to take a genuine Low Tidings day miracle to help Captain K'nuckles out.moreless

  • Heartwarming, great plot, and flat-out HILARIOUS!!!

    9.0
this has got to be one of the best flapjack episodes ever, i never really expected flapjack to get a christmas special, but i gotta it doesn't dissapoint.

it all starts with the story of this shows version of christmas, Low Tides Day. unfortunetly bubbie has to leave becuase of the tides being so low (hence the name low tides day), but this year she decides to let k'nuckles and flapjack stay to celebrate. however we learn that k'nuckles hates low tides day because when he was a boy he didn't get any presents and was beaten up by mermen instead. so, flapjack comes up with a plan to help k'nuckles be nicer and get the presents he always wanted.

its a wonderful holiday story, with a well written plot and great humor, and thats why i give 9/10!moreless

    • This episode makes some references to Scrooge from A Christmas Carol.

    • Cultural Reference: Christmas

Low Tidings: Low Tidings day parodies Christmas, in Low Tidings, the tides go way lower.

Naughty/Nice: Unlike unwrapping presents, people in Stormalong reel in boots in the water and wait for the tides to go down. People who are nice find a gift in their boots, people who are naughty do not get anything, but they get sacked by merman, but at the end of the episode, sacks are used for delivering gifts, for now.

Traditions: The Low Tidings traditions are the same as Christmas, such as the Low Tidings pageant.
