LOL, I was just coming here to post this. What great news! I can't believe it's been almost six years since Season 1 was released, and while so many other shows have completed their run on DVD, we're still waiting for the last few seasons of this classic series. I need "Chuckles Bites the Dust" on DVD!

I'm very excited about this news! I was hoping that after the Oprah special, Harpo productions would have bought the rights to the series and released them, but this is even better!

It's nice to see that the fan's reactions are actually accounted for by the suits and they actually matter. At least SOMEONE pays attention!

In a recent interview with two sources, including Twentieth Century Fox (the DVD producer), TVShowsOnDVD reports that we might see the final 3 seasons as part of a complete series set, not individual.

When TVShowsOnDVD asked Twentieth, they said they hadn't made up their minds yet, saying they may release them individually and in a complete series, or one or the other.

There are no finalized plans yet, but stay tuned.

So, a year after this announcement, the season 5 DVD was just released. It's very skimpy-- no episode titles, no air dates-- just the cover and back art and the discs, all in one jacket. I imagine Twentieth Century Fox is intentionally releasing pared-down versions of seasons 5, 6, and 7 so as to entice people into buying the complete series set. First let's see how long it takes for them to announce the release of seasons 6 and 7. Any bets? ;-)
