  • A pilot for a failed spin-off.

    5.6
I can see why CBS passed on this pilot proposal. The characters were a little one dimensional. Bill Daly plays a dim witted politician who is kept afloat by his smart staff. It is not as sophisticated as it sounds, at least not in this pseudo pilot. They also try to address race in this episode but it is a little strained. The woman who plays the white secretary is really bad.

As far as an episode of Mary Tyler Moore, it is a weird episode because it barely features the regular cast. Not one of the better episodes of season two.moreless

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • In this episode, Mary is trying to find a candidate to interview for Face the People, a Sunday news program that discusses political issues of the day. This is a spoof on the actual CBS program Face the Nation which has been running on Sunday mornings since 1954.

    • Goof: Bill Daly's character, Pete Peterson, says in this episode to Rhoda that he just came back from attending a Bar Mitzvah. The problem is, it is a Sunday evening, and Bar Mitzvah services are nearly always done on Saturdays, and in the mornings at that.
