this is like the pilot episode of the new mentalist. Really dissapoint. Slow, boring, a self-centered Jane

Why bother to give the precision that the drug dealers are Vietnamese, if the actors obviously speak an altogether different Asian language ? The production should either give the roles to real Vietnamese-speaking actors, or alter the script to make the dealers' nationality congruent with the actors' linguistic abilities !

Before they got on the bus Jane's snitch told him that Kim was an agent.

I really liked this one it moved everyone on and (some might say lazily) avoided dealing with the immediate fallout from the end of red john.
Simon Baker was really good in this episode. And having gotten to the stage at the end of last season where I was feeling a bit ho-hum about this series these last couple of episodes reminded me why I really enjoyed this show in the beginning.
and they managed to throw in Patrick setting up some dirtbags...

I am looking forward to how things are now that time has passed. I usually don't like "time jumps" but in this case, I believe it's needed to continue the series.

I thought the "red john" issue would never end. Finally!!! Whatever color comes next, I just want to get back to what this show does best: Jane outsmarting everyone else. Seems like great shows drown in their own conspiracies. At the end of a long day, I just want to watch a fun show.

I agree with your conclusion but not necessarily your premise. While Jane outsmarting people is fun, it's not so fun if all that is happening and if nothing every changes. Maybe I just prefer story arcs instead of seralizes shows with repeating mini-arcs but still, they don't really have to choose one or the other.

While I do like to see some sort of long-term story arcs, the Red John thing went on for way too long, IMO, which is a common problem for TV shows. Apparently, it is extraordinarily difficult to figure out when you've started beating a dead horse.

Indeed, but in this case I would argue that they spread the the story arc way too thin. They should have focused the entire two first seasons with this story arc instead of putting this in as some kind of background plot while the rest of the show revolved around a typical detective show with focus on a mentalist.

Considering the RJ was deeply personal for Jane from the start and at the end I hope they avoid a similar subject for now, actually focusing on what Jane can bring to the table that he couldn't in CBI due to his focus on RJ. The problem now lies ahead what kind of criminal types can we expect that will be a match for Jane? If they don't aim for something that will come close to a nemesis (but not personal) I don't see much point in the future of the show, but I will settle for random criminals as long as they focus on Jane's skills but they need to be varied for that to be good enough on its own.

The next villians are coming right from a crime syndicate called "The rainbow brigade"; with Red John gone, his friends and fellow criminals, among them Blue Jim and Green Paul, they are teaming up to exert revenge on Jane. With the help of the CBI mole Mauve Ross.
