How well do you think this show will do? Itfeatures Michael J. Fox's return to television, but a popular actor doesn't always lead to success, as demonstrated by Go On last season, that got canceled after one season. Vote in the poll and/or explain how much success you expect from this show.

I really hope it does well. I like Michael J. Fox. But sadly family comedy seems to die very quickly in tv lately.

Not all family comedies die quickly. The Middle and Modern Family are both entering their fifth seasons this fall on ABC, and Modern Family is ABC's top-rated show. But, the question is, can a family comedy do well on NBC at 9:30?

The show will start well, I reckon one of the number 1 comedies of the season. It just depends how well its written and if it can keep the fan base. Its on NBC so they wont be in a hurry to cancel it, in fact I've just found out they've already given it a 22 episode order before its even aired which is saying something...I think it will be one of the higher rated shows on NBC given the state of their current line up ratings!

I only just now looked up the premise. Before that I kept wondering "Michael J Fox had to quit acting due to his Parkinsons, even giving up a pretty cherry sitcom gig back then as a result (oddly replaced by his real and fictional/character friend Charlie Sheen, who went on to do great things...).

J Fox has obviously proven he's capable of doing comedy both on TV and on the big screen, so I'm not so much worried about him, but more how his parkinsons affects his performance (even as a person playing someone with it already). That and the writing of course (which is kind of out of his hands unless he's one of the writers, which I doubt). So yeah, fingers crossed? Outside of it being Michael J Fox and about Parkinsons it seemsotherwise generic, so I hope they really knock it out of the park on the writing.

When I think of family comedy, there aren't many who have had the experience he has. It would seem that for someone who has fought such an illness and survived that simply going back to what he does best, even with a limitation of the aforementioned, would be a piece of cake.

I think that it will start out super well. By the time we get to season 3-4 it won't be doing as well, and so it will go 4 seasons.

If this show does well, will Muhammad Ali get his own sitcom?

When Michael J. Fox started making guest appearances like in The Good Wife I though that he was doing a hell of an effort and doing it well. Now he has his own show and did quite well also. I did liked the show and how well they incorporated his sickness into the storyline, I hope the show does well and lasts at least three or four seasons.

I like Michael J Fox, more so that I'm a Canadian, but its painful watching him, especially with his sad affliction. I like to remember him like he was before. Just the way I feel.
