Show Summary

  • Returning Series
This new comedy series uses a mother's point of view to shed light on the lives of a middle-class family in the Midwest.''The show focuses on the Heck family's life in an Indiana suburb and is narrated by Frankie, a dedicatedthough frazzledmother who works at a local car dealership and volunteers for school functions. Father Mike works at a quarry and takes a more laid back approach to most things, but backs up Frankie with force when the need arises. Oldest child Axl, a snarky, surly, high schooler, spends much of his time napping and roams around the home shirtless. Geeky, gangly, braces-wearing Sue is trying to navigate her way through junior high, join the cool crowd, and avoid Axl's endless onslaught of taunts, none of which she does with much success. Youngest child Brick is in elementary school and is the academic in the family, but suffers from near-crippling social anxieties and possesses an odd habit of repeating words he just said back to himself in a loud whisper.''Starring Patricia Heaton and Neil Flynn, the Warner Bros. Television pilot was written by Eileen Heisler and DeAnn Heline, who also serve as executive producers.moreless

Are you kidding me?? One of the funniest shows on television turned into a 1/2 hour commercial for a WV Passat? You've gone way too far with the product placement.. I am surprised at both ABC and VW.

This show is crazy, awesome, and hilarious. A great show for the family. OK this show is so funny and finally a show on ABC that a family can watch. WOW! Now the reason why not a 10 is because the girls can get annoying sometimes. But Brick cracks me up. He is so hilarious OH MY GOSH! Overall 9.5/10.

  • This is basically another Malcolm in the Middle.

    "Perfect"
As much as I love Malcolm In the Middle,ABC decided to remake that idea, but take off the Malcolm in part, and what do you get? The Middle. This is basically about a family who basically have a problem and tries to solve it,but ends of failing doing it. Now,all of the characters are remakes of MITM characters. Fran is like the mom(forgot her name),but does not get angry all the time,The dad (Forgot his name) is like Hal,but is not so crazy,Axel is like Reese, but is lazy,Bric is like Dewey, but smarter and doesn't throw tantrums,Sue doesn't remind me of anybody,so basically no one is like Malcolm or Francis in this show. I like Bric the most since he is super funny, has the intellegence of Einstein and loves libraries. He also has a funny running gag that has to do with him saying something, then repeats it to himself quietly. He even does it when he's lying, which is funny about him. This show also doesn't have that annoying laugh track or drama, which is what we needed. In my opinion,I hope this lasts longer on ABC. This is basically a great way to remake Fox's hit comedy.moreless

  • WOW!! HOW COULD I HAVE MISSED MIDDLE SO LONG. THIS IS ONE GREAT FAMILY SHOW

I just started watching MIDDLE about a month ago, I wish I had watched it from the beginning. I am recording every episode in case I miss one. I told my 3 daughters to watch MIDDLE and now their familes are hooked on it as well. This is a very funny way to look at what middle class families are like in the 2000's. It makes me laugh at our problems instead of crying. I love the episode where the MOM and Dad had to be checked out by DHR(Department of Human Resources) This has actually happened to some of our family. I hope they continue this show for a long time. It gives me something to watch that my Grandkids can watch with me and not be afraid something bad is going to happen, and they really relate to it. Whoever wrote this must be middle class. Keep up the good work. Thanks for listening.moreless

  • Funny! Such a great family show for all ages. Finally a show that's appropriate for kids; and just plain hilarious!

We love this show! It's perfect for the whole family; we have a 13 year old daughter; and we DVR and rewatch it at least 1-2 times in the week (waiting for the next week's episde); it's that good. Each time we rewatch it, we catch something new that makes the show even funnier. Watching this show together is something as a mom I share with my daughter; which in itself is special. To the writers; we would love to meet you!! As well, the actors are great, and totally bring the characters to life. I'm not a big fan of TV; and it's hard to find something the whole family can enjoy that is appropriate, and allows you to feel young again... this show completely accomplishes that. To the network; please keep this show.. it's worth the investment.moreless
