My favorite character is Axl "Charlie McDermott". He is very funny and finally someone got it right when portraying a teenage boy. I know I was one a very long time ago. He walks around in his underware because for one reason he's only in front of his family, it's more comfortable, and when he wants to go somewhere he knows what ever he wants to wear is probably clean. Besides if he has to do his own laundry, as I did he doesn't have to do it as often. I think Charlie McDermott is a very good actor and has a great future in front of him. I love all the characters on "The Middle" and I have been a big fan of Patricia Heaton for a very long time and they couldn't have picked a better actress to play Frankie. Does anyone know ifCharlie McDermottis related to Dillon McDermott? All the actors on "The Middle" are wonderful in their rolls and I hope the sitcom continues for a very long time.

Mike. Neil Flynn is hilarious everytime. But this is also a hard question because there aren't any characters that I dislike. Axl is probably my second favorite though

Mike, by far. Neil Flynn is the main reason I watch the show. I've only seen four episodes, and most of the characters seem alright. Sue is easily my least favorite, the whole kung-fu fighting bit (including the talk about it to her parents) was very amusing though.

Brick rocks The Middle!

Every episode, I look for the secret word or phrase that he whispers below his chest. And when Betty White did it, Brick looked at her strangely!

Sue is my favorite cuz she reminds me of myself. I also like Frankie, she's funny. Brick is funny, but that secret word thing drives me nuts, Axl is so weird, walking around without his shirt all the time. Mike is okay, kinda dull though, but he actually had some fun on Halloween, that was cool.

I don't really have a favorite. I really like all the characters for different reasons...I think each one adds alot to the show!

i won't be watching the show anymore, it has lost its comedy.
the daughter never gets above being irritating and beyond stupid; she would be thrown out of a real school with the kids just laughing here all the way home and that silliness of the square dancing was so irritating. axil is repulive and him walking around in his underwear is so gross and the hair on his chest is so ugly. bret is the only one that is likeable. the mom is such a loser as is the dad.
that's it for me, i watched it enough and no more, not funny just irritating and so stupid. how can an entire family be losers?

Brick! But the rest of the cast is brilliant too, Sue is the real aDORKable one, (Zooey could learn a few things from her), Mike and Frankie, Axl, Bob (and he's wonderfully inappropriate crush on Frankie) and - come on - even MrEhlert is, in his own way, adorable.

And don't forget the lovable old aunties - imagine having these two on Thanksgiving/Christmas dinner!
