Brick shows considerable talent in his school's spelling bee, and Mike decides to train him for the regional bee. The family gets set to go on a road trip to Chicago for the regional bee when they realize that they forgot one thing—Sue's birthday!

    Ehlert starts off with his sexist comments at work and promotes Frankie making her a birthday card writer. This is a front handed comment. A back handed comment before a promotions that is not really a promotion but a different title. What a jerk this Ehlert guy is. Mike learns that Brick won the school wide spelling bee; Brick has a gift. Sue wants a sleepover for her birthday coming up but Frankie seems to have forgotten all about. You can see the excitement in Sue's eyes, but when she is at home and finds out that her parent forgot, she gets upset. They try to make it up to her by admitting they feel guilty and letting her control the trip to Chicago during the weekend of Bricks Spelling BEE competition. They are used to being disappointment in brick, but not now, and Mike coached him with much enthusiasm. A proud dad going the distance for his son to make sure he wins the spelling bee. In the car Sue got on Axl's nerves but she was just excited and you can see the joy in her eyes as they travel.moreless
