    • When Naboo goes to the board of shamen the people seated at the table are (from left to right) the Green-faced witch is played by Noel Fielding's mother, Kirk is played by Noel Fielding's nephew, the head of the board of shamen is played by Julian Barratt (Howard Moon), Saboo is played by Richard Ayoade, Tony Harrison is played by Noel Fielding (Vince Noir) and the old warlock is played by Julian Barratt's father.

    • Electro pop duo Robots In Disguise reappear in this episode, this time playing the two goths that the Boosh lads are trying to hook up with.

    • UK goth heroes The Cure are multi-referenced in this episode. First of all Vince claims that the strongest hair spray available, Goth Juice, is made from the tears of Robert Smith (The Cure's founder and singer) while at the the end the Moon sings The Cure's hit Love Cats. There is also mention of 'the forest' during this goth-soaked ep, possibly (or possibly not) a reference to The Cure's early track A Forest.

    • Vince changes his name to Obsidian Blackbird McKnight to impress two goth girls he has met, the name is an allusion to the Dutch progressive death metal band of the same name.
