A odd episode in the extreme

I got the impression that a knowledge of the works of santana was required in order to watch it.

Howard ,Vince and the rest only appear at the start and the end of this flashback story.

It focuses on two musicains the bongo brothers.

One a pompus ,big haired psychedelic monk with a door in his head and the other is a dreadlocked drummer who simply loves to screw ,drink and play.

They are out in the dessert to find the new sound.

But so are razorlight and chris deburr.

The ep does have funny moments the dialogue between the bongo brothers is hilarious at times .

The cameos were great the villian was a flash back to the ealier 80s portable media war between VHS and BetaMax.

    WEIRD

And watch out for rodger daultreymoreless
  • The best episode.

For me, this is the best mighty boosh episode of both series.

The episode jumps straight into a story of two new characters, Rudi and Spider; musicians lost in a desert looking for inspiration. Whilst there, they stumble into a town populated only by women, but tormented by the evil betamax villain seeking vengeance for the overly lustful advances of Spider, on his VHS wife.

In true Western style, Rudi and Spider defeat the villain whilst developing as characters along the journey. If this sounds mental as your reading it, its because this show is a great example of completely surreal and off the wall humour, mixed with quick one-liners and *stunning visual effects.

This episode also has a great soundtrack, with my second favourite song from the series, almost as good as the Rick James inspired funk track in the old greg episode.moreless

  • QUOTES (3)

    • Rudy: Feel the power of my fusion lick!

    • Bar Lady: Why don't you stay awhile?
      (she flashes him)
Rudy: Put away those fiery biscuits...

    • Howard: What the hell are you wearing?
Vince: This... is the mirror ball suit.
Howard: (sigh) I've been up for four days trying to find our new musical direction, you're in this band as well, what've you been doing?
Vince: I do the costumes, you do the music, that's the agreement. And this, my friend, represents a major breakthrough on the sewing machine.

  • NOTES (1)

    • Noel Fielding's real-life dad appears briefly as singer Chris De Burgh. He was cast in the role because his family had always said he looked like one-time MOR star.
