Emmy-winning actress Rhea Perlman is returning to a place where everybody knows her name... television!
The former Cheers star will recur on the third season of Fox's The Mindy Project, TVLine reports. Perlman, who played grumpy barmaid Carla on the famed '80s sitcom, will play Danny Castellano's mother Annette on the Mindy Kaling-starring comedy.
Depending on Mindy's Season 3 storylines, the role stands to reunite Perlman with her former Cheers co-star Dan Hedaya, and may bring with it a bit of deja vu. Hedaya, who played Perlman's ex-husband on Cheers, appeared on The Mindy Project in Season 2 as Danny's dad—and Annette's ex-husband—Alan.
Perlman most recently appeared on TV Land's Kirstie, which was also a Cheers reunion of sorts, given that Kirstie Alley plays the lead on that show.
The Mindy Project Season 3 premieres September 16 at 9:30pm on Fox.
