The best show on tv at the moment! Mindy is hilarious, I literally laugh out loud watching it. Most of the characters are strong (with the exception of the strange old woman beverly). I really like the love hate relationship between mindy and danny, but I do love Casey as well. Really glad this has been renewed for a second season- looking forward to it!
I can't get enough of Mindy. She's funny, she's vulnerable, she's genuinely caring and a great dreamer. The show seems to really be finding its footing and I believe it should switch time slots with New Girl. Given time, FOX will realize the gem in the line-up is Mindy.
This show is becoming a classic so far, all it needs to do is strengthen a little bit more on the image and connections. The jokes are okay, even if they are considered clumsy. Mindy and Betsy are the hottest women characters in this show. They need to bring back both Gwen and Shauna in this show and prevent that horrible old woman character from returning!
Perfect name for the show considering it feels like an experiment to see what would happen if The Office's Kelly Kapoor was an OB/GYN and pretty much ignored the career. this seems to be her one character and it'll be hard to build a successful career on just that.
It has some funny moments but Mindy Kaling just can't be the centerpoint of a show. it's amusing at times but more often than not, it feels like a lazy generic attempt at humor with cardboard cut out stereotypical sitcom characters. Personally, I think her time would have been better spent finishing that last season of the Office and giving this some more prep time before launch.
For me, a PhD in her early 30s, the show completely resonates with me. I think Mindy's character reflects many women today - intelligent and professionally successful, but still trying to find their footing in their personal lives. I find the honest and candid situations and humor to be refreshing - Mindy shows her imperfections in an unashamed way that makes other women who relate to her feel normal.
First, I would hate if this was my daughter her moral compass is way off. With that said, this is an adult comedy with some good writing. Mindy does a great job as a lead in a show. The opening scene was hilarious. There were other funny moments in the show as well. However, I'm conflicted her her sense of whats right and wrong.
This show is on the chopping block. I can't stand Mindy Kaling. This show is a bottle of urine on its best day, and the people who think it's watchable are drinking it all down.
Luckily, the rest of the world has a brain, most notably one of the few execs in charge up there at FOX (who knew? a FOX exec with a brain?) and this will come to an abrupt halt, only to be replaced with more crap... but at least we'll be rid of this nonsense.
TV is blessed with a ton of good comedies these days - the Mindy Project might not be the most stellar one, but it's definitely got heart, a selection of hilarious characters, and a very relatable, awesome female lead who absolutely carries the show. A lot of us single girls would love to deliver the sorts of zingers Mindy does on a regular basis...
It's a show that brightens up my week and occasionally reaches absolute hilarity. I hope it sticks around for a long time, because I feel like it's only now hitting its stride.
The show is getting better and better. It's seems like the first episode was a little different. I love when the people in the show think that other people are strange and they act strange too, but still accepting each other. You know what I mean...
I am an Indian female doctor in my late twenties, so I can definitely relate to Mindy and her situation. Yes, she is crazy and immature. But guys, this is a comedy and crazy characters make for good entertainment. I watch it for the laughs. I dont expect it to be realistic. In fact most of the medical dramas on TV (especially Gray's Anatomy) are pretty unrealistic and get nowhere close to representing the life of an average doctor.
I loved the hiring of nurse Morgan Tookers in Episode Two and Jeremy and Danny getting their driving licences in Episode Four. I actually find these characters more interesting than Mindy and would like to see more of them. It's weird that there is more chemistry between Jeremy and Danny than there is between either of them and Mindy.
But more than anything else, I'll be watching this show because it's the first American sitcom on prime time television to feature an Indian in the lead and I really want it to succeed. South Asian actors have a pretty hard time getting roles, so if this show is a success, it can lead to more roles for them. And about time too. The South Asian community is extremely underrepresented on TV.
After three episodes, I still haven't decided whether I like this show. First off, I can't decide whether Mindy is endearing or annoying. She kind of annoys me, but she's also kind of relatable.
The first episode was cute but not super funny, and I thought, well, I keep watching and see how it develops. The second episode I thought was very good (apparently I'm the reverse of Mindy fans, since of the three episodes, the second one has the lowest user rating). The third episode was about the same quality as the first.
Some shows take a while to find themselves, and Mindy Project is just interesting enough for me to give it a chance for a while.
I wasn't sold by the pilot, but the second episode was awesome. Mindy is really likable and adorable, and while they were quite bland in the pilot, in the second episode the other characters really stepped up. I still don't think this show appeals to guys, but I'm a girl, so who cares.
I didn't LOVE the pilot of the show but I was willing to give it another shot and I'm glad I did because it got alot better!!!!! I laughed throughout the episode and really enjoyed the Danny and Mindy scenes on the subway. I will be tuning in the next episode for sure and I am looking forward to seeing where this could go!
I'm not the biggest fan of Mindy Kalling. To be fair I almost never watched The Office and ergo I'm not really familiar with her work. But, the hype was pretty high for this show, and watching the pilot of a show really doesn't do you anything wrong.
I liked the pilot of Mindy Project. But, I didn't understand the story, or let's say it was different from the one that I've heard before the show started. I think I've mixed it with 'The New Normal' plot, mainly because that picture of the show that circulated during summer - those two doctors and Mindy talking in the lounge.
Anyhow it was different from what I expected. The plot seems interesting, but not compelling. The sequences were short and nicely connected, but there was too much Mindy. I'm going to get tired of seeing Mindy during the whole episode and subsequently that was and is going to be boring, if they can't find another character to revolve the story around.
It's a comedy, and not all of them are funny. So was this one. Not pretty funny, and didn't make me laugh. But, it made me feel nice, and maybe sometime feel pity for the characters and their 'stupidity' which usually makes us laugh. But, theirs didn't make me laugh.
Simply put it's a nice show, and will find its audience, but surely not a hit. Maybe the females and couples will watch it, but not single males. I'm off.
Maybe its just me, and it really seems like it is, but I liked The Mindy Project. Was it the best comedy I've ever seen? No. Did I watch it only because it came on after New Girl and I was a little curious. Yes. But, I actually thought it was a little cute. I guess I find something endearing about a chubby 31 year old OB/GYN who is looking for love. I like that she is wacky, but I do think it needs to be toned down a bit. It was really clever at times, but her craziness may over shadow it. I think it has potential. I'm going to stick around to see what happens. It could get really, really bad, or it could get really, really good, but it deserves a chance.
I am just saying that because show doesn't have have any sense of humor, Most importantly the lead lady of the show "Mindy" is not acting at all it look like she has to go somewhere and she is in hurry to say all line and wants to wrap it up as soon as possible.
