Fox wants more Truthiness

Fox has never been one to shy away from what works, and that trend is continuing. The network today announced that it has ordered 13 more episodes of The Moment of Truth, the surprising new hit of the season. Truth is a game show based on Columbia's Nothing But the Truth, and debuted late last month. In the show, a man ...

Familiar shows fill Fox's summer schedule; When Women Rule the World delayed again.
Apr 08, 2008
Fox summer touts new old shows

Fox's summer schedule will include several new episodes...of reality programming.

That's the gist of the press release sent out by the network, with the only other major news being a delay of When Women Rule the World. This is the second time the show has been rescheduled--it was originally meant to debut March 3. The gender-role-reversal "social experiment" doesn't have an updated premiere date, opening up the question of whether it will air at all.

While sitting on the couch with the air conditioning blasting in a few months, viewers will have their pick of several reality programs. The home-wrecking The Moment of Truth will return May 27 alongside hothead chef Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen.

Fox's inadvertent statement on the quality of the American education system--also known as Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader--is back in session June 12.

Network rolls out big guns in late August; Fringe to follow House, Dollhouse set for midseason.

Fox moves fall to late summer

Fox was the last of the major networks to unveil its 2008-2009 prime-time schedule, and from the looks of it, it used its position to its advantage.

Though the new most-watched network was last to present its schedule to advertisers in New York City, it looks as though it will be first to show its new programming to viewers. Fox will kick off its season in late August with a week of two-hour premiere events in an effort to build up audiences early, beginning with the debut of Prison Break's fourth season on August 25.

That is followed the next day by the debut of what Fox hopes will be the next big television hit: J.J. Abrams' new sci-fi action show Fringe. Fringe, one of two new shows in Fox's ...

Network pushes fall premieres from late August to early September; Prison Break leads charge September 1.

Fox slides sched back a week

Fox surprised some people in the middle of last month when it announced that it would kick off its fall season in late August, about a week earlier than the rest of the networks. August 25 was to see the two-hour fourth-season premiere of Prison Break, followed by more two-hour specials during the rest of the week.

Well, it turns out Fox was just playing around. The network readjusted its schedule yesterday, pushing everything back a week and lining up with its rivals.

The fourth season of Prison Break will now bow on September 1, with two-hour premieres of Bones (September 3), The Moment of Truth (September 4), and Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader (September 5) following.

The following week will see the more traditional Fox fall lineup take shape, with premieres of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles on ...

Fox rejiggers midseason schedule

The dry-erase boards at Fox Broadcasting are certainly getting a workout as a result of the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike. The network today once again revamped its midseason schedule, and it's now a bit all over the map.

The biggest move by Fox is the decision to postpone the series debut of When Women Rule the World, the gender-bending reality show, which sees the fairer sex in charge. The show has not been given a new premiere date yet.

Because of the State of the Union address scheduled for January 28, Fox is moving back the season finales of Prison Break and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles to February 18 and March 3, respectively. The Terminator finale will be a two-hour episode.

Crime-drama New Amsterdam will now air on Mondays, beginning March 10 ...

Sometimes when asked difficult personal questions, a little lie won't hurt. Unless you're on the game show The Moment of Truth, and your lie is detected by a lie detector test. Host Mark L. Walberg administers the questions already answered by contestants previous to the show's taping. The prize is $500,000, but will it be worth it? In season 1, 21 contestants answered 299 questions correctly, and 9 questions falsely, winning $1,300,000 in the process.moreless
