Great Expectations
AIRED:
Scarlett, Michael, Shelly, and Sam go on a ride to Canada so Scarlett can get the "morning after" pill. It seems that Michael and Shelly were on a date (or at least supposed to) when the other couple asked for help. It seems that there is a problem with getting Shelly and Sam through the border so Scarlett comes up with a plan so all four can go. Will her plan get all of them arrested? Will Sam and Shelly patch things up or will the gap bettwen them widen? At the General Store, David notices that Max bought a pregnancy test. Maria is at the St. George where she seems to be attending a Yoga class which Travis also attends.moreless

I was so excited when this episode came out. I loved it. I truly though that this show was gonna be one of the best on the WB. It had great potential and some HOT guys. Too bad not enough people knew about it. Of course not alot of people watched it. It was on a sunday night at like 10 pm for only 13 episodes. They should have given it more of a chance and they are really gonna be missing out on something.moreless

Although there has been no announcement this episode is the final one of the series. The cast has been phoning in the episodes for the last month. Expecting more of the same I was pleasantly surprised with this series final which was an amusing story that was interesting throughout and one of the best episodes of the now concluded series.

The opening did a good job of telling the story without needless dialogue and I particularly enjoyed the trip to Canada. I have made that trip and although the border guard spoke with a California accent the weather and scenery were about right. The script was well crafted and the acting believable. In addition it contains an excellent lesson about teenagers and sex. The Public Service Announcement by Penn Badgley was to the point and considering the sexuality throughout this series a timely message.

    • Shelly: It's Canada! Land of the free. Health care for all. Gay marriages for some. They won't care if we cross the border.
