The first number is "Comedy Tonight" sung by a bunch of monsters. The background is a haunted house. There are lots of explosions.
Fozzie needs to get ready but he keep cracking jokes. He claims it's his new act, jokes on any subject. Kermit tell him to work on it alone.
In the ballroom there's mention of old families, stuck monsters, and a lady caught in the chandelier.
Joel Grey's first number is "Wilkommen" from "Cabaret." The set is a supper club where the audience starts singing along. The orchestra is made up of cats and dogs.
Hilda can't find her glasses. She asks Fozzie where they are and he replies with a joke. Hilda finds her glasses on top of her head.
Kermit tries to talk to Joel but he mentions Joel's biographical information leaving Joel with nothing to say. Kermit then thinks that he's a dull guest.
There's a song about Turkey, the country called "Pachalafaka." There'a a belly dancer. At the end when the belly dancer takes off her veil only to reveal that she has a moustache.
Hilda, George, and Miss Piggy complain to Kermit about Fozzie's jokes on every subject. They decide to be silent so that he can't think of a joke due to what they say. But the plan fails when Fozzie starts making jokes about silence.
Gonzo and Joel do a small bit about expressions and puns using a talking hat and banana.
"Sherlock Holmes and the Disappearing Clues" is the longest act on the show this week. Rowlf is Holmes. A man has been shot on the sofa. Slowly Holmes uses his methods of deduction to come up with the answer but when he reveals who the killer is there is no evidence to back him up. The evidence disappeared into a monster's mouth. Since there is no evidence Holmes merely states that there was no murder. The murder victim sneezes proving that he's alive.
Gonzo decides to demolish a vintage car with a hammer to the music of "The Anvil Chorus." He is also going to eat the crank case. He gets booed. When he mentions that he's going to give up performing the crowd cheers. Joel comes out to offer advice. He starts to sing "Razzle Dazzle" to Gonzo to explain what he means.
Kermit thanks Joel while the other Muppets come out to hug him.
